    @F1Aussie
Not sure, but if I understand you right you are talking about some sort of „blurryness“ caused by (low) resolution of the livery file.

feel free to post some pics what you are talking about. ;)

could also be gfx game settings related.

I notice it from some onboard cams and also in the showroom, you notice it when the cameras are zoomed in a bit. Maybe it is just from the zoom, i do notice it in most sims from memory, maybe it is just the way things are as most things get blurry or jaggy when zoomed right in. AMS2a.JPG AMS2b.JPG

You could try to bend the decal a little bit, just for a few degrees. Looks sometimes a little weird when looking at it in the painting program, but is quite ok when watching the car in game. But I have not seen the template of this car yet.;)

In my oppinion, this can have 3 main reasons.
    1. Low resolution settings in game.
    2. The part of the car is very small on the template. When the camera comes too close, it gets blurred because it gets blown up too much for it's small size. Saw this issue on liveries I painted myself. Wanted to put decals on the inside front of the cockpit of some open wheelers, just like they had in real life. But this part is very small and above that, you must bend it a lot in order to fit the shape of the cockpit. Looked quite ok in preview, but when driving in cockpit view, when the camera is of course extremely close to this part, it looked horribly unsharp, causing "eye cancer" and I removed it.
    3. The painter did not work cleanly enough on this part. If a decal for instance has unclean edges, this has huge effect when the cam comes close in game. And about the transition from one colour to the other, like on your image: On the template, we are talking about a size of just a single pixel. This can lead to that jagged effect from a close view.

Righto, I notice it on developer skins as well. It wouldn't be in game settings as I always crank everything up to max eye candy. I think it must be 2 and 3. It is prevalent in rf2 and ACC as well.

    its simply the resolution.
Assume a car is 4 meters long and the livery is sized 4000 pixels ( standard ),
    you get 1000 pixels / m , that is 1 pixel / mm.
So if you have a sticker IRL with 1pix/mm, this is really rough.
    Thats all.

    Kind of ;)
It all depends how areas of the flat image are distributed on 3D mesh. Some areas can be quite small on the mesh but take quite a bit on 3D model. And vice versa which is why some elements can appear blurry.

My only suggestion would be to double up the DDS file resolution but that'll come at a cost of size with some performance hit.

Thanks a lot Rob, that F-Retro Gen2 car definitely caught my attention since it was driven by Elio De Angelis in early '79.
Now I have another problem, with this car (and only with this car) I'm not able to "override" the default liveries.
My custom Lotus 79 liveries just works fine as well as all the others, custom Formula Retro Gen 2 do not, maybe because it is the only car without a dedicated directory and dedicated _dist-xml example file in the \Vechicles\...\Overrides\ directory?

Yep, this was my mistake, i forgot to submit the default override files for the G2 (they have been now) Overrides are enabled for that car though so you can just make your own files as Wolfgang mentions above.
