AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

Is Racedepartment, I mean Overtake GG, still being updated? I haven't seem anything change for AMS2 since 1/6/2024? Or have liveries etc, just slowed down lately?

It may slow down for now, but some very exciting Skinpacks are coming in the near future. I'm working hard on the 2.0 Version of the F1 2024 Skinpack and I'm also helping out on some Classic F1 Liveries for a new Skinpack which will come soon.

 

We are also working hard on a Nürburgring 24h 2024 Skinpack for the GT3 and GT4 classes. We will keep you updated, stay tuned.

 

@STV_Robin, @mikesch250 and I are getting there , and everything is looking good so far, 11 done out of 28 (counting the 3 Audis that raced)

 

created two new liverys that are will be on race department soon.
i like driving the corvette C8R but to be honest found the liverys kind of plain
i wanted to create something that said "come and have a go if you think your hard enough"
and also learn about metalic layer effects and fake chrome in the process
and the below images are the final result


i also just recently finished the porsche 963 ( painfull template to use ) for the 2024 mustang sampling livery





i wanted to give the livery a bright look but not full chrome
its fair to say that making these liverys for me now is a bit of an obsession as ive make quite a lot. and i still enjoy seeing the end resiults of all the editing and shading combinations

@wegreenall - im glad you like it, and your positive comments are much appreciated.
They show appreciacion for the hours taken to create a clean design and all the testing and colour sampling that goes into creating the end result.
ive come a long way self learning in photoshop and it means a lot when others give comment, thanks

 

ive replied and updated race department versions

just to assure you, nothing is missing.

in essence when creating a livery i usually use a default set of XML code
if the game doesnt see it it does load it so it does not effect the skin appearing on the game

A few notes regarding corvette C8-R model
corvette C8-R i cannot get the glow plates to work
i dont think they are set to work on this model
i have made several glow plates with no issue when applying the same process for this livery they do not become visible

notes from using metallic option
when using Metallic option in the .xml it overides any other layers spec and fres do not effect it and even if active are not visible
metalic colour from myy tests there are not colour changable ie light green dark green just game default green
if you change the black tranparent layer in the file it just shows as a whiote base

 

Le Mans version of Proton and WEC versions of Jota completed. Just waiting for pictures to arrive of the Jota at Le Mans and then all complete for the privateers!

Oh we are lucky that people are interested in doing this stuff! Are you doing any more LMDh liveries? I really like the Gold 01 Cadillac Sebring one!

 

Yes I’ve actually working on a concept 963 livery based on the AMG DK engineering livery as i like the color scheme and using a metallic base. ill show it when I'm completed ( there seemes to be no yellow and green LMDH cars currently

also regarding your point for the Cadillac
i find that livery's kind of bland, hence why i pimped up the C8-R livery shown in previous post
I'm thinking i might try to do a chrome or gold carbon and black or light grey look still mulling over a design.

I would like to override the default AMS2 Mini livery. So I can make small changes to the default livery. Like say the flag on the roof.

Here's why.

I'm racing in a mini league, in the green mini number 28. And since we don't have a skinpack in the league, but I do want to make small changes so a logo will show up on my YouTube video's but you still would recognise my green mini on other YouTube video's with the same drivers in the same league. I would like to know where I can find the default AMS2 mini cooper livery.

 

That's the thing, you can't unfortunately (as far as I know). Your best chance would be to replicate the Livery and personalize the bit you want. That's what I would do.

 

Thank you for your reply. I thought so. I also tried making a transparant livery, where I only add the logo and export it to the game. Like you can in ACC, but in AMS2 that didn't work out.

 

Making Liveries in AMS2 is a bit more complex, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy on most Cars. But we do still have some things that are not ideal. *cough* Modern Helmets with the brown color on top *cough* ^^
