AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

Just like how i did one Nascar livery for the SuperV8 i was driving in a league at the time. Then right after it i did another one, and another, another, and never stopped. Just gotta start and it can lead to amazing work if you have the patience and inspiration.

 

Hi Custom Livery Experts.

I'm tinkering with a problem for quite some time.
The goal is to have the metallic effect of BASELIVERY="SilverMetallic",
but at the same time I want parts that reflect only a slight amount of light (dull surface).
The latter may be achieved by using a TEXTURE NAME="SPEC".
Apparently, these "SPEC" maps are not considered at all when using any "*Metallic" or "Matte" BASELIVERY.
Is this finding correct?
Any thoughts on combining Metallic and Dull?

 

That's the same problem I have for me F1 Skinpacks on cars like the Aston Martin or the Mercedes. The spec effect doesn't really come into play there. Otherwise i would have cars like the Red Bull with the Carbon shader and with the spec everything that needs to be matte would be more matte. Maybe this can be improved by Reiza for 1.6 or so.

 

Making a seamless livery on the M4 GT3 is orders of magnitude more difficult than a Caterham but I finally have a good foundation, I think! Unfortunately this PSD is almost a full Gigabyte

Did a test and found out you can have custom helmets and outfits even for cars that do not have it specifically written in the _dist.xml file ! Guess i can now start making these for my livery packs that do not have them yet.

Oh it isn't anything different the way i did it compared to how it works for any other car. Just use the same livery override lines as you would for ther cars that have them supported and add it to the custom livery xml file. Here at the bottom with the VALVOLINE livery you can see how it was named previously, the above Goodwrench is the full helmet and outfit set.

 

many of the override definitions have been reworked inside the rcf files ( located in the livery bff's )
But not every override xml has been updated.
So its either trail and error or you are able to unpack the bffs and look whats possible.

 

Realistic helmets and suits. Work now properly started but it will definitely take a while since there are 40 liveries in this pack, so far i finished 2. More than enough work but i am excited to finally be able to do this and improve the immersion tenfold !
Stock Car Brazil 1999 - Nascar Liveries

 

Been sitting on these because I didn’t know if I should do a full pack or not, thus gonna label these theoretically still in progress. But I pretty much do race liveries strictly to entertain myself these days, so if anyone else likes them, even better.

(Although, I am obviously quite proud of the Pontiac Team Firebird one)

Earnhardt pack - real helmets and suits update

All 20 helmets and suits for the Earnhardt pack are now released ! Once i catch a break for a few weeks i will then come back and do the 20 for the Labonte pack.
P.S. unfortunately there is a limitation with how the suits work and the sponsors on the right arm are mirrored. Unless Reiza makes it so that each arm is a separate item there is nothing that can be done about this.

 

Waiting for Overtake to come back online, but in the meantime everyone can know I added some driver suits to my Caterham Pack...

Ok, I really am on one. Just polished off the Formula 3 pack I've been working on for the past month or so - Included a means for people to customize name plates if they'd like as I sometimes get requests from leagues or racing groups for that sort of thing. Helmets, Outfits, AI, this one has it all.

These look absolutely fantastic, and the suits for the Caterham drivers are gorgeous.

 

i know its nitpicking, but as good as it looks on first view, i don't like such little inaccuracies.
It kills the great effort you invested

Same way as i did a test with the 1999 Stock Cars i did it now with the 2021 and found out you can have custom helmets and outfits for them too even though they do not have it specifically written in the _dist.xml file.

I am now taking a break after finishing the 1999 Earnhardt Pack but at some point i would want to come back to this one and make the helmets and suits too.
