AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

Well, this might be my dumbest idea yet, Inspired by fellow user on here TomLeHockySVK and driving the stock car around Adelaide, i thought it would be a good idea to make the 2024 Supercars Grid on the Stock Cars (from 2023, becasue then you can use them together in a weird world tour format)

But heres the first of 28.

That is actually a very cool idea ! I mean if we are not going to get a new Supercar, then why not re-purpose the Brazil Stock Cars ? That livery you made looks sick ! WIshing best of luck and a LOT of patience when making the other 27 ! It took me a lot of patience to do the 35 for the 2021 Stock Cars.

Probably a silly question. Is there a reason why you wouldn't make them for the superv8 instead?

 

Nah, not a silly question, Just simply, the Super8 has had loads of liveries made for it, and its the last-gen car with 1 manufacturer on it. I just like how the Stock Car drives (Also the numbers worked so perfectly, that 18 drivers had Chevys and 10 had Fords (using the Toyota for it))

 

I occasionally get infatuated with a random car class. "Totally gonna make a whole pack for this one!" As long as I still enjoy driving it, anyway. By the way: Driving the ARC at Buskerud Kart is really funny.

Can i ask whats the best way to do the preview images?

As ive done one and it looks bad.

 

Go to the car that you made a livery for, select that specific ID of the car without preview / with the bad preview, then go to "showroom", make a screenshot from the side like this, put it in photoshop in a 2048x600 piyels format, delete everything from the background with the eraser.
Then export it with the "Transparency" enabled.

If you want to make more Previews for the same car with more liveries then select the next car you want to make a preview of, take a screenshot in the Showroom, put that screenshot over the first picture in photoshop that has the background deleted, select THAT image, select the deleted background with the magic wand, while it is selected click on the image that does not have it erased and click the Delete key. Rince and repeat until complete for all previews of the other cars in the class.

How does this affect already existing preview files from custom liveries ?

 

They look a bit weird, because they are stretched in new UI.

 

The texture will always fill the full space, so the hight of your 320 high texture will be scaled to 384.
As the width is the same as before, it wil look a bit squeezed.
To try, simply scale a picture exact from old to new size w/o care for the aspect ratio

 

Thank you for doing a showcase. At least it isn't something gamebreaking and works for now.
I would seriously not want to update 24 of my livery packs with just a rendundant "not squished previews" update.

This might be a stupid question, but does the Chevy 2023 stock car work with Matte paint? As, it straight up refuses to work. I've followed every tutorial to the dot, done everything as it said and it refuses to work.
