AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

Copa Trucks - Nascar Liveries
All 16 helmets and suits for the Copa Trucks - Nascar Liveries are now released !

P.S. unfortunately there is a limitation with how the suits work and the sponsors on the left arm are mirrored. Unless Reiza makes it so that each arm is a separate item there is nothing that can be done about this.

 

So, regarding my Image Preview of the Cadillac.

Step 1:
I took a picture of the car, using the closest angle and focal length to the original preview.



Step 2: I open my Sebring livery preview (or the screenshot of the original cars' preview) on PS.



Step 3: I then overlay them to see if they are similar, and after that, I start tweaking them bit by bit to make them correspond to the original.

 

If anyone wants it, I'm using a little template for my Previews going forward that I kind of like.



I could drop the PSD on Overtake if anyone is interested (it includes a value adjustment layer), or more simply you could just paste this picture into the Alpha of your desired preview:

 

The critical bit is the camera angle right and replicating that, once you've taken your photo the rest is the same as before? Having said that, I did one quickly and just winged it, it's not the exact angle but in game you don't really notice.

 

I think the biggest problem is to take exactly the same photos for all the liveries of the same car, so that you can make the transparency mask only once and reuse it in the future.
What would help to make better previews in less time?
I think he possibility of having a preset of the car's position in the showroom and also being able to load the other liveries on the fly, without leaving the showroom. Also an option to have a single-color showroom, with an all-black background for example.

 

go for it, but just in case you didn't know, i had done a full pack ages ago, with a mix of real and fantasy liveries

All the better as I ran out of steam, haha. Saves me having to finish the rest of them. Will probably release the ones I did finish eventually though (around 8 or 9 I think.)

 

Appreciate this post. I guess the difficult thing for me is just getting the angle right. I can handle the rest in GIMP, but replicating the correct angle every time seems impossible tbh.

 

Yeah, it would be really handy if, in the showroom, you could select a preset camera position from within the "Take Photo" mode which just put the camera in the right spot to take those images.

Also big thank you for fixing the banner textures for the Stock Car 99's!

Is it just me who can’t make a custom Alpine livery show up and my custom livery for the SC63 shows up as fully red?

 

My custom SC63 works fine
Maybe you´ve got a typo in the xml - could you post it here so that we may help you?

The A424 has a problem with the naming of the folder im pretty sure. Its "alpine a424" when it should be "alpine_a424"

 

IIRC I tried both names, but it didn’t work. I will try again tomorrow

 

Thanks, I did manage to make a dent but we'll see if I go for the full field.

 

Have to chnage Alpine folder name and change your xml document name. Folder is Alpine_A424. Xml file should be alpine a424.xml
