AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

    So I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this shader access to work. I've watched the videos and read the tutorials others have provided but still nothing doing for what I want.
    Here's a .rar with the XML file, the PSDs of the skins I'm using, and the .dds files I've saved. If anyone can look into it and tell me what I'm doing incorrectly I would GREATLY appreciate it.

    The alpha channel paint it black whatever you want in matte (white will shine) and save the DDS in DXT5

    Looking for the black area to be matte, with the white shark pattern being mostly reflective, and the stripe & decals being the most reflective. In showroom, as well as in exterior cams in game the effect is visible, but in cockpit view as well as bonnet/roof view the skin looks as reflective as it is by default. Is it like this for anyone else? I’ll have to experiment with other cars.

    to me you have to control it only with the specular dds. BASELIVERY „Default“. More grey means less specular

    Here's a couple of pics in game showing what the issue is. Here you can see a difference between the reflective parts (the stripe, the number and the white parts underneath) are reflecting the environment and the black underneath is not (drone camera)

    In the cockpit camera, you can see environment reflections on the black area which should be matte as it is above (see where the pit crewman's leg meets the car)

    Any way to fix this?

    Agh.. really hate to take over the thread like this, but I can't find out what I did right with my previous vehicle. Trying to implement the Matte effect on a different car and nothing doing.

    I've got the right text in the .XML file, so I'm thinking I might have something going wrong with the way I save .DDS files. Which of these options in photoshop should I be using when I save the body.dds and the spec.dds?

    Save for "Chrome":
    Your painted-dds in DXT 1
    your fresnel-dds also DXT 1
    your specular-dds is DXT 5 with an alpha channel

    Save for "Matte":
    Your painted-dds in DXT 5 with an alpha channel

    I appreciate everyone's help - Looks like the effect works on some cars and not others. Managed to get it to work on the E30 and the Formula V10 G2, but no luck on the MetalMoro (Chevy).

    could be typos or bad references in the internal files.
    Its all new and much effort for the graphics guys.

    Lighter grey than 109, 109, 109 on the RGB file seems to give better results, still not as good as the coloured chromes...

    Also using full black or full white, not the pCARS2 settings of 20,20,20 black or 230,230,230 white helps on the chrome, was my mistake from before...

    The Formula V12 has a lot of skins for a class of engine that rarely dominated the sport as the go to engine for the majority of the grid... Not complaining, gives me the ability to have some fun with some unreliable skins to really test those new reliability AI parameters...
