AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

What software should I use to make custom liveries?

 

For me I use paint.net... It's free and works better than GIMP in terms of workflow when setting up a skin and rotating things... And the BoltBait plugins add so much depth to it as far as what you can do, there's a few things which photoshop does better, but for free I like paint.net the best...

But it doesn't work with the psd files straight up, which GIMP does... So I have to make a png file of the mesh and other parts of the psd file to build up a paint.net template... But that little annoyance is worth it for me because the work flow is better for me in paint.net...

All three of the Mercedes trucks are finished. Now it's the Volkswagen and Vulkan that are left.

 

Alpha Layers don't work with the 10's Helmets unfortunately. The Helmet from Leclerc should be a bit seethrough but it isn't.

 

Just to point out the bug with the brownish color on the Helmet. On some parts the White is like it should be. Like under the Spoiler on the Helmet as you can see here:

Doing some tests, do you guys think a NR livery pack for these would have some potential ?

Will all cars actually get the support for metallic matte? Or is it just individual ones?

Hi. I'm a Paint.net user, is it possible to create a matte base paint layer using paint.net?
Below are the settings I'm apply to the base color layer but it still appears a glossy black in game. Any ideas?

 

With greyscale colours (White, grey, silver, black) sometimes full alpha causes issues with certain cars... I usually use 20 on the alpha the same as the RBG for black...

Just a possibility that came to mind... Make sure that the layer you are painting that on has nothing on it or behind it... As it becomes additive...

 

Hmmm, still no joy. I also tried changing the rgb to 64,64,64 but still glossy. The layer is the base color layer, nothing below it but a few decal layers above it. Double clicking on the layer also gives you an opacity slider which I set to 20. Blend mode is Normal.
Perhaps I should try with different colors or is it just a paint.net limitation?

I've been using paint.net for metallic's and mattes with little issues... Which car are you trying to paint? It could be an issue with the shader on that car...

EDIT: You just caught me whilst in the paint room, good timing

I can have a look at the specific car and see if I can get it working on my end...
