Stock Car Brasil 1999 - Nascar Liveries 2.0 overhaul !
New and updated Nascar liveries for the 1999 Stock Cars.

With many months of experience making liveries, i looked at my earlier projects and was no longer happy with the obvious lack of detail in certain aspects (those damn door handles), or how the contingency sponsors were too small - all that has now been fixed, while also making low-resolution areas much sharper.

Long before this update i started gathering votes for which cars were the least favorite of the pack, and based on that made new liveries of more popular drivers, and also changed the Richard Petty STP from his previous 1973 car, to the 1982.

AI has also been updated and tweaked to better reflect the average start and finishing positions of each driver to the year the raced in, with the added average of their overal race results. With all that done, i now give you the new Stock Car Brasil 1999 Nascar Liveries version 2.0.

Some people told me they are not interested in a livery pack that has duplicate numbers. And as there were only 2 cars out of 20 that had the same number i decided to improve the pack.

- Jimmie Johnson 2006 Lowe's has been added, replacing Bobby Allison who had the number 22 just as Ward Burton. Now all liveries have a unique number.

 

Just a short question, sorry if that's been answered before somewhere: Does anyone plan on doing the 1989 and 1990 F1 seasons for the new F-Classic Gen3 with the McLaren MP4/5B. Would be awesome to have all of the Senna v. Prost years (minus 1993) in the game. Tried to get started myself but that was a little too ambitious for a first project, should maybe first try a couple of simpler designs to learn how to do this

 

Those two seasons(along with 91 & 92) are my fave F1 era ever. The issue for someone like me, is that there are no 1989 cars at all, and no 1990 ai cars for the MP4/5B to race with.
To a casual, that won’t mean much, but seeing a 1990 McLaren up against 1991 ai car shapes just feels off, to someone like me.

there needs to be another set of generic models, based on a few 1989 cars, like an ‘89 Lotus, Tyrrell, Lola etc, that would span ‘89 & ‘90 sufficiently.

The Gens 2 cars feel a lot more 87 & 88.

 

For the MP4/5B there was a new class introduced, the F-Classic Gen 3, 1991 has moved to Gen 4. I think apart from one new unique model for the 1990 Williams they just reused some of the Gen 2 generic models but no one has created a skinpack for the new Gen 3 class yet. Not sure if that's what you meant though.

For 1989 it would be enough for me to just have a skin for the MP4/5B along with the others so that it has the correct livery for that season. Personally I think the generic Gen 3 models even fit better to 1989 than 1990 with the rather low airboxes

 

Interesting, as I haven’t looked at the Gen3 class since before the recent 4.6.4 update, where the 1991 models were being used - I guess as placeholders.

Are you sure there’s 1990 Williams shape in there now for the Gen3(1990) class? That’s major news if true. I’m at work so can’t check until 8 hours from now lol.

 

I'm at work too. 100% sure about that new class, very sure about that 1990 Williams shape, there definitely is one unique model in that new class. But both has been in there since release of the MP4/5B.

 

I am aware of some of plans for skins & AI for 1990 - we have not got a livery template for the new 1990 Williams-ish model yet though afaik.

Okay now I’m getting really excited. Any screen shots of the car either on track, showroom or in the car select screen?

 

I thought it looks like a Dallara F190, the skin kind of fits, but not enough to finish the skin

OMG. I just got home, fired up AMS2, and looked at the F-Classic Gen3 cars in the showroom(I had 1991 cars & skins still showing up on the selection screens)....

I was disappointed until I clicked on the Gen3 Model3 in the showroom... There it was - a Williams FW13B outta nowhere!

 

Either I'm missing something or something is wrong with the template from the Porsche RSR 74. The circled areas also turn orange, although I can't find an area that matches it.

 

What i do in situations like this is cover up the WHOLE IMAGE in 4 different segments with 4 different colors. Export, check in the showcase. Once i see what color covers it, i then cover that colored area with 4 squares of difffent colors. Rince and repeat until the specific area is found.

 

Now if I'm not completely mistaken, there is a template in the opening post of this thread for the FClassic Gen 3 Model 3, which should be that 1990 Williams-ish car, right? I checked and it looks like it's the correct template.

There is only the template missing for Model 4 but that should be the same as Model 1 since the only difference is that one is a V12 and the other a V8.

 

Thanks, I will probably try that but I also wanted to raise an issue with the UV (if there is any). This happens only when I paint the slim part right to the windscreen and this should not happen imo.
