You need to make an Alpha channel with the Matte parts indicated in black and glossy parts indicated in white (with In-between or metallic parts in varying shades of grey). As well make sure you’re saving on DXT5 format for the DDS.

also, I THOUGHT I understood chrome, but maybe I just lucked into it the first time…

I managed to do a matt colour, thanks, mate:), but when I tried to do glossy and chrome... I don't know how and why I have jagged edges, and the number plate is clear:(. I searched on YT for some tutorials, but there is nothing, completely nothing, just for iRacing. Reiza didn't do any tutorial on how to set the colours either. So there's no point in doing it if I can't figure anything out.

I think adding a few layers will help with that... I think the edges are created from not using layers and/or then not transferring those layers to the spec and fresnel file...

Here's a help post I put together a while back still relevant...

i assume, the internal plane they use for the alpha channel converts any texture to 1k b4 using it.

I moved the layer to spec and fresnel. As I was doing the Alpha channel, I had some strange artefacts, black squares from nowhere, strange because the layer was in png. I'll see the link you provided, mate.

I have tried and nothing; once I have matte black with grey chrome, then I have the whole thing in matte, and recently I had, I don't know how black satin with grey chrome. :(

If you are using the chrome base livery the matte effect doesn't work with the alpha channel at all...

As such you cannot mix them that way... And using the matte base livery will negate the effect of the chrome...

Use the chrome methods... IE instead of using white or a colour on the spec file, use almost black (IE 15,15,15 it changes per the cars shaders) in order to achieve a matte...

Are there no helmet-packs available for the Classic F1 Gen1-4 cars? Looking at RD, but can only find an older-now-removed pack for Gen3 (now 4) for 1991 season. Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Latest Release Candidate:
McLaren MP4/6 (Part of F_Classic Gen 4) has no driver in cockpit when using custom livery in combination with the low downforce model (in use on tracks like Hockenheim Historic).
No problem with the standard car model.
