Yep, the Brazilian GP was held at Jacarepagua. But I remember reading that there was an attempt to move the race to Brasilia but nothing came out of it.

Interlagos is a great track, but I always liked Jacarepagua. It's a shame it doesn't exist anymore.

Actually, there was only one non-championship race, in 1974. Right after the official Brazilian GP, in Interlagos.

Brazil hosted official Formula 1 on two circuits only: Interlagos in the 70s, Jacarepaguá in the 80s and then Interlagos again since the 90s.

There were 2 circuits named after Nelson Piquet: Brasília and Jacarepaguá.

Jacarepaguá was named after Piquet in 1988, after his 3rd world championship in 1987. But the circuit was demolished in 2016 for the Brazilian Jokelympics.

Brasília was originally named after ex-President Emilio Medici, but it was changed to Brasília after the presidential election later in the same year (Medici lost, I guess he was pissed about it).
Then, it was leased to NZ Empreendimentos, owned by Nelson Piquet, in 1995. In 2006, the Brazilian government took it back. Nowadays, it's owned by the BRB Bank and it's legally known as Autódromo Brasília BRB. But it will always been known as Autódromo Nelson Piquet, since it's where Nelson grew up (fun fact: Nelson was born in Rio de Janeiro. I guess that's why Jacarepaguá was also named after him).

I read somewhere that one of the reasons why Piquet and Senna didn't get along was because Piquet was a "Carioca" and Senna was a "Paulista". Not being from Brazil, I don't know if this is true, false or an exageration.

Would also like to see Thruxton and Croft to pad out UK track numbers.
