The purpose of this thread is to attempt to cut down on the amount of clutter, setup checks, questions about AMS2, and just general "HELP!!" or ''I think this is wrong' style threads often seen filling 'General Discussion' and 'Help & Support,' and hopefully get those questions answered more quickly and efficiently by bringing them together in one place for viewing. Together with the community, devs & mods we help each other.

Questions of this thread would consist of (examples):

    • A question you think should have an obvious/well-known answer
    • A question that feels rather specific and you're worried it might get passed over entirely
    • Wiring or setup help for your rig
    • Asking about the benefits of one piece of sim racing gear over another that you're considering
    • Does A or B have to work like this?
For troubleshooting questions, please ask in: Troubleshooting Automobilista 2
For bugs, please report in: Bug Reports Automobilista 2

    Thank you very much!

I just downloaded AMS2..whenever I open it, the game looks massively over exposed to the point that most details are washed out. The track itself is just white. No other games have this issue for me right now. I'm stumped.

Hi, I have a T818 and whenever I go over bumps, especially the orange bananas, the ffb signal is too strong and makes my wheel stop and restart which is quite annoying specially in multiplayer races. I sent the unit to factory and it's checked as ok, I tried other games and it works and only happens on ams2, where I race the most. I also tried other ffb profiles, even custom ones and same problem. Do you have any solution? Has anyone else on a T818 has had the same problem?
    Thanks!

What are your FX and LFB set to? Try turning them down.

Hi, Sorry, I saw this thread after I posted a new one on VR not working properly, but I don't see anywhere in the thread edit options that allows you to delete a thread. But I'll go ahead and ask the same question here just in case it gets addressed quicker... After the update all the sudden I was unable to run AMS2... It would just crash as soon as it started loading. But finally I got it working, sort of... I did a 2nd check on the integrity of the files in Steam, and now its even working in even in OpenXR (I haven't been able to use that for quite a while in VR). However, the view doesn't rotate when I turn my head (cockpit stays centered or moves when I turn my head). Also, I can not re-map any of the buttons in the Camera & View settings, so I'm unable to change view. Why is Automobilista 2 getting so finicky these days? It used to always work brilliantly for me without any issues at all.

At 29 Gain and 13 FX which is way below what thrustmaster recommends but it is the only way to make it playable. With this settings I can play but the odd banana sends the wheel into restart mode and I can control the car for some time ruining my races. If I lower them below this I can't even feel the ffb which is quite messed up considering it is a 10nm Direct Drive wheel. On other sims I can play with stronger FFB without this issue. I even tried to play on Project cars 2, since they share the same engine, and there I can drive with more gain than in AMS 2. I don't know if it is a Thrustmaster problem, though they checked the wheel and claimed everything was fine.

And what is the LFB (Low Force Boost) set to? Your gain and fx seem fine. I'm not familiar with Thrustmaster software, but someone else might have an idea if you also post the settings you have in that.

Oval tracks with a Controller, cars are set up to pull to the left, hard to use a controller to keep them straight on the straight's, anyway to overcome this ?

    Many thanks

@Yerffej I don't have a controller, but I think for ovals I would add a tiny bit of deadzone to the left, and then adjust the linearity to the right. (Within the controller driver if there's one) So on the straights you have to pull the stick to the right a bit to stay straight.
Alternatively I believe that works best is to use the weightjacker actively too.

I'm interested if you find a setting that works. Indeed, driving on an oval is very complicated with a controller

Hi all. I'm getting a strange buzzer sounds. Like a mechanical type of a buzzer. So far I've noticed it in GT3 Lambo and Audi. Don't remember hearing it before the latest update.
Anyone alse having this sounds? It doesn't seem to be consistent in when it comes on. Sometime under braking, sometime mid corner and sometimes under power. Also seems to happen in different places on circuit. I have no idea what it is.

Does it happen when you shift gears?

This is the shift compressor for gear changes.
