Many thanks to Karsten for all the time on this :)

Just my notes (for DD1 mainly) on ingame settings. The damping slider is a really cool feature now as it allows to even out steering angle forces as you see fit. Some people like increasing torque, some like a more constant force applied once tyres are loaded and torque then increases with speed and G-force (close to rf2), then you just increase or decrease gain to compensate if it became too high or too low. As the center loading was improved, the LFB isnt required to be very high imo. So far I havent felt cars need much FFB multiplier adjustments in setup, some people like formula cars really heavy but most modern formulas dont feel that way so the file doesnt make it super strong.

One thing for some distant future would be to check whether cars have actual powersteering or not and how strong it is etc. But this does require a high end wheel base as it has much more headroom for these things.

Just tried the rFukter file. ~10 hotlaps F309 @ Kansai.

Initial impressions are very positive, I really like this file. I'm feeling new levels of subtlety in road texture and the tyres relationship to it, the feeling of 'rolling weight' is really nice. Unfortunately I'm not very good at expressing physical sensations, but I really like what I felt. I will spend more time with it in different cars etc over the weekend. I would say this file has the most subtle detail I've experienced from all the files I've tried.

Oh I did feel the need to increase gain up to 60 (might go higher), increase effects up to 70, LFB down to 30 and dmper down to 0 (was previously 5) -I need to try more different damper settings to understand its effect.

I'm sure you know, but just in case: You can increase the top 3 master values in the file by the same % each & you will have the same feel, but just more volume overall, so if you run out of steam that's an option :)

First impression ?? WOW effect ... it's another planet ... I feel a marvel will come out ... everything is more open, identifiable, clear and variable ... for now I've only tried the V10 Gen 2 at SPA, I'm just starting out of the tuning, I only set my "tighten", I launched the game to be able to start tuning the Gain ... to hear it better the effect I lowered the LFB to 0 (which I will then raise it) ;) ... this absurd value of LFB on a Logitech basis has up to now been unthinkable even and only for testing (usually 10-30) as the steering wheel would have been totally empty ... but now, even if incredulous , I can drive the car well ... the feeling on the steering wheel is much more gradual and variable as the car, speed and downforce vary ...

The wheels of car obviously still feel strange but it's normal ... I still have to adjust the LFB and all the other parameters ... in short, I know that tonight I will try very long and many things ... I can certainly say as always that you are great ... thanks KArsten & Company ...

Yeah I’ve had to make a couple of fairly significant, fundamental settings changes for this one, and a couple in the file itself - on a CSL Elite - but I think, I THINK... it just might be feeling better than ever now  Thanks so much all involved.

Oh, also we forgot to add an important bullet:

    * FX slider is now acting alone on adjusting road & effects. Adjusting gain will not change this. We hope this makes it more of a set & forget.

Updated the post with this now too.

It’s taking a lot of self discipline not to jump on and do some laps first thing on a Saturday morning ;)

will try out later but sounds awesome.
So what your saying is basically gain will set peak torque and it’s probably best to set to optimum low load feel and use power steering to limit max torque.

It will depend on the LFB as well on the low end and the power-steering only adjusts based on angle toward road direction on tyre.
    So:
The gain will set the high end possible, yes.
The lfb will adjust the center strength, as usual.
The damping(power-steering) will adjust the power steering torque provided based on angle towards road pull direction. So the power-steering is not limiting the overall torque, but provides help on cornering. We've tried 4-6 different power-steerings and this one stood out as providing the best feel while also allowing velocity vs df to stand out more clearly than strictly torque-based power-steering.

    :)

Tried the new file on a G25 (yes, I know :D), but for the first time, it didn't work out of the box. Very flat, even when boosting settings in game to 100%, quite the opposite of what everyone else is experiencing (more detail). Earlier files always got more defined/stronger feeling, no matter if on Low, Mid or High version. Tried master_ values a little bit higher and messed with some values down below but I obviously don't know what I'm doing because in the end it just got heavier, but still without the definition that older file had. (88/75/50/50 or even 100/100/75/100 resulted on poor feeling).
So far, sticking with this one (https://forum.reizastudios.com/attachments/ffb_custom_settings_v52_peter_g920-txt.13164/) and keep following the thread until something tuned for Logitechs comes around from the experts. The above file it's almost perfect for me, except that I don't get the "over crest light wheel feel". Other than that, it's a good compromise between handling and immersion.
Thanks to everyone involved. Keeping track of this thread for a long time now, and is amazing to see how much the settings have improved over the time.

I experience very high centering forces when cornering and getting my foot on the throttle. RWD Camaro roadcar was fine, but I noticed it on AWD Lancer and even on the classic Mini Cooper FWD in which case I didn't expect to happen a lot when getting on throttle. Gain was at 40, then reduced to 30.

(I'm only starting to get into the whole driving experience again and trying to understand what's going on, so it could also be just me getting it wrong)

Interesting. I'm on CSL Elite+ and love it straight out of the box. Gain 75, LFB 20, FX 50, DAM 15. Wheel force 100, dri -02, FEI 80. Only tried it with Porsche GT3 911R at Brands (it rained), Donny, Oulton, Snetterton and Spa but lots of fun, feeling and detail. Really like this one! :) Thank you :)

ok I caved and had a quick go, it’s very good and flexible, can put sliders many different levels and still get good feedback.
I’m leaning towards having power steering about equal to gain. and still playing around with Lfb, though I may experiment with having tightening active in file with lower lfb later on.
Also will experiment with turning damper down in file as was running zero previous.
I think tuning will be limited to effects.
I think it must be the tear effect that’s giving me some strong harsh front tire vibrations if spinning and dragging fronts the wrong way on or off track.
Also it’s harsh tire scrub effects if FX above 25 , but feels like I could go higher than 25 to get best kerbs etc, so a little ratio scaling to tune amongst the effects as mentioned.

If you like, use gain 65-70 lfb 35-40 fx 50 and at this moment damper to 0 ;)

After use tighten with yhis value ... 3 option then 3 test in game

    Option 1:
(tighten_range 0.10) #Use for lower end wheel bases.
(tighten_falloff 0.005) #Use for lower end wheel bases.

    Option 2:
(tighten_range 0.12) #Use for lower end wheel bases.
(tighten_falloff 0.006) #Use for lower end wheel bases.

    Option 3:
(tighten_range 0.16) #Use for lower end wheel bases.
(tighten_falloff 0.0128) #Use for lower end wheel bases.

    EDIT: Also range 0.21 ;)
EDIT 2: Set Damper to 50 or in the range 30-50!!! ;)

Thanks for sharing! My initial run was with the same car, interestingly enough. On the 962C now though. I’ve ended up at 65 Gain (though my Porsche is set at 120%), 15 LFB, 50 FX, but 50 Damping. On wheel, I’ve got FF 100, Drift -3, FEI 40 (was running this at 70 until last week - setting it lower seemed to eradicate the occasional knocking feeling I’d get around the centre of the wheel). It’s getting closer and closer to perfect!

    I'm testing the problem cars .... ;)

KansaiGP ... GT1 fixed they drive beautifully and even at low gears I have full control ... I'm enjoying like a mandrill ...

    GAIN 68 - LFB 38 FX 50 DP 0 (Damping not tested yet) ...

Go with Catheran and I will let you know ... but already without tuning the value it is great,

I suggest you do a few laps and wait for the melody to enter your head

Im surprised you all use such a low damping value, I run damping 50 and compensate with gain to make it as heavy as needed, low damping values to me make too much different steering angle forces :)

yes that’s basically where I set it for my quick test early on, 50 gain matched to 50 damper ( power steering) and then playing around with Lfb up to 50 and 25 Fx.

Edit: Now Running in file tightening which feels a little more accurate and responsive,
    Using 60 - 5 - 15 - 50
Everything is drivable at this setting but for the big brutes I can reduce per car gain .

it’s actually possible with this file to run 100 gain but think it’s counter productive to subtle details. Having gain 10 more than damper gives a slightly better feel of some the unique fine details in this system.
