Reverse engeneering to make a copy or better competitive product in the market is less acceptable* (or even forbidden by law) than reverse engeneering to improve the product itself, more so for a product (Madness engine) that's supposed to be open to community contributions.
FFB in Madness Engine is the pinnacle of this concept.

    * - I've buyed tools from Aliexpress that are, almost for certain, a copy of similar products designed elsewhere (Japan, Europe, US), but not available in Portugal. My moral standards accept that easily.

    Hey guys!

The changes to the Customs V400 created new, very good options. Now I was able to write new customs very quickly with just a few interventions (more detailed information will follow). That's why there will be 6 new V400 customs. This will cover practically every base and every power. This will then give:

    V400 1-3 NM
    V400 4-5 NM
    V400 6-8 NM
    V400 9-10 NM
    V400 11-13 NM
    V400 14-20 NM

    V400 2-20NM Rally

See you soon and have a nice weekend:)

Modders need to reverse engineer a simracer's performance attributes by editing the values labeled under "Countersteer" and "Reaction Time". There's a lot of controversy over whether we should go there.

    Good morning !
Since I'll be traveling a lot for work in the next few weeks, I won't have much time for my hobby of sim racing. Unfortunately, I can't wait until the next Reiza update. But I think it won't change fundamentally like it did with 1.5. That's why I'm going to post the V400 to you today. See you soon

    Hi guys !
Here are the promised V400 Customs. The key to a good FFB lies mainly in the different forces involved. How are these forces processed and how are these forces output and how do these forces ultimately reach the steering axle and your wheel.

I've taken another step forward with these V400 files. These files do not require any damping either in the game or on the base.LFB in the game is no longer necessary (not even with weak bases). In addition, you no longer need to adjust any friction or inertia on the base. The V400 Custom will do all of this for you.In summary, this will make it much easier with the settings in the game and at the base. This will also make it easier for beginners who want to enter the world of custom files.Simply select the appropriate file (1-7) and that's it.

    An example:
Personally, I use a Simucube 2 Pro with 25NM.Now my personal sweet spot is around 11-13NM depending on the car and route. So for me that means File 5 (11-13NM) is the best option for me.This is how you should proceed to find your preferred file.

The changes to the V400 files brought very good improvements and new possibilities to write new files with little effort. This means that there is now a suitable file for practically every base and every power.Total 6 files and 1 rally file.

    1. File V400 1-3Nm
    2. File V400 4-5Nm
    3. File V400 6-8Nm
    4. File V400 9-10Nm
    5. File V400 11-13Nm
    6. File V400 15-18Nm
    7. File V400 Rally 1-20Nm

    Change log V400:
    1. New customs written to cover many bases and powers
    2. New in-game settings adapted to the V400 (recommended settings can be seen at the beginning of the file)
    3. New base settings (recommended settings for different bases can be seen at the beginning of the file)
    4. The middle and the center feeling have been improved again (easily felt with weak bases)
    5. Vibrations and oscillations reduced again
    6. New file written for very high forces 15-18Nm without causing vibrations or oscillations
    7. Very harmonious and even power development to achieve as little clipping as possible but as much FFB as possible
    8. These changes have sharpened the FFB.The suspension, the road surface, the curbs and the feedback from the tires can be felt even more intensely.A fantastic feeling with the cars on the different tracks

As usual, the flat spot is set to 0, which can be changed in the file according to personal preference at (Flatspot_scale 0. My recommended range is approximately 0 - 0.05The 7th file is the rally file for all bases and all power ranges. This means for Formula Dirt Cars / Cart Kross Cars / RX Cars / Trucks and for all go-karts.Be sure to change the in-game values of these cars. These values are specified at the beginning of the file.

As always, I wish you quick rounds and lots of fun with the files

The files sorted from low to high strength:
    1. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 1-3Nm
    2. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 4-5Nm
    3. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 6-8Nm
    4. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 9-10Nm
    5. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 11-13Nm
    6. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 by Daniel for all bases and forces 15-18Nm
    7. File Best of Karsten Hvidberg V400 Rally by Daniel for all bases and forces 1-20Nm

I love your files. The last one worked really well in the beta and this one will hopefully work even better

    What's new:
    • Adjusted overall grip feel (before, gain slider had a strong negative impact when set too low)
    • Improved longitudinal weight transfer
    • Increased minimum grip feel
    • Added (back) independent/direct scrubs effects
    • New in-game dials suggestions: 70-00-35-10
    • Adjusted and tested on Moza R12 (other wheelbases may require further fine tuning from users)
    Still to improve/implement:
    • Bottoming out effect, to be on a par with sound fx. Depends on Reiza, but expected to come :)
    • ABS/TC effects, perhaps?
    • Oscillations, hands-off the wheel (doesn't affect driving, that's your fault! :) )

    Those last files are incredible.
V300 is the most realistic FFB I've ever felt period.
I tweaked the over/under-steer a little and thought to myself this is it, no more tweaking, just racing.

V400 adds a lot of amazing details under light stress, but sometime, with certain cars, is more vague with heavy forces. For the record I use FEI@80 in fanatec settings. I don't think I'm clipping, those cars with vague feedback have not the strongest steering (other with heavier steering are fine), but I can't be 100% sure.
Is there a scientific way to tell anyway ? I don't trust the ingame FFB graph to provide accurate data on that.

The most glaring issue I have is that this V300 "power window":
Suitable for all Bases from 8 to 25Nm

Is bloody perfect for my CSL DD, just the right amount of forces.

V400 power windows are different and therefore I'm not sure if it is just a matter of toning down a few main dials to make it even better than V300, of if there is more to it.

I hope Alegunner68 will have a look into it, cuz I found out he always managed to make the last few tweaks that turned your files into magic :)

In any case thanks a lot for you work.

Good evening! There's more to the V400 than just a few small changes. Yes, there are changes, but they change the customs significantly and create a completely different feeling. The additional customs for narrower Nm ranges also help with these improvements. I tried to eliminate the damping, the friction, the lfb, the inertia from the in-game settings and the base settings. The rest can be changed according to personal taste. And of course every user feels it differently, whether it's V300, V400 or another custom from another modder, in the end it's all personal taste;)

    For sure.
Those file are already complex, then there is the diversity of hardware, and people of different sensibility, I can grasp the esoteric side of it.
That being said your V100's really stands out, and some of the modifications your made are obvious to everyone it suppose.

For the record here's my CSL DD setup:

V300 with slightly lower oversteer and slightly higher understeer.
(Can't think of anything else to add)

    Fanalab:
    # SEN: Auto
    # FFB: 100%
    # FFS: Peak
    # NDP: 7%
    # NFR: 2%
    # NIN: 0%
    # INT: OFF
    # FEI: 80%
    # FOR: 100%
    # SPR: 100%
    # DPR: 100%
    # BLI: OFF

    # In Game: Gain 64 / LFB 0 / FX 32 / Damping 1

Yes, absolutely right, the files are very complex and the hardware also plays an important role.I've already mentioned that these customs have huge potential, but in order to move forward I had to take different paths, the V400 files are further proof of this.No damping, no friction and no LFB to use neither in-game nor on the base are major changes, but in my opinion they are worth it if this is already integrated in the file.My goal was to not have to make any complicated adjustments and to set as few filters as possible on the base:)

So you’re saying there is even more we can get through the FFB?

That's the advantage of a custom file, it can be constantly adjusted and improved and also react to the current physics. Of course there are limits and, above all, it has to be implemented. For example, if I reduce or increase the roughness of the tires, that's not progress for me, it's just personal taste. Maybe the progress will continue, maybe it won't go any further. Unfortunately, I can't give you an exact answer;)

    For Logitech? It's irrelevant. It's a machine :D
For you, test some and see what makes more sense to you. No one has the power to know what you like or need ;)

    Hallo, Daniel,
Ich finde den V400 großartig. Was und wo müsste ich in deiner Datei ändern, um die Mitte etwas enger zu machen. Entschuldigung für mein Englisch.
