[/ QUOTE]

test his Silver Santos v1.0 - F. Santos / Karsten.
I could notice in the old messages that I often agreed with your remarks.

I really hope you figure it out.. That's a shame with your nice wheel base! Just posted a tweaked version 3.0... Who knows, maybe it works for you too with some luck..

Cheers

Thanks for pointing that out. I have no idea why it wasn't there any more, I've uploaded it again to post #3.

To me it still lacks:
Better scrub, more pronounced kerbs, LFB on details and bumps, so they both don't disappear outside of center.
Without those it feels kind of dead.
Even more it lacks friction and momentum resistance on steering angle changes. The steering feels like a lose rubber band around the center, specially at low Lfb, which is really preferred on higher end wheel bases.

I think they will soon start work on these ffb issues as v1 is out. These things are only minor on top of what's already there in default, technically.

Reiza devs have access to far more information than custom ffb allows, so my big hope is that in 6 months it will feel much better using default than what the current custom ffbs do. Then the custom ffbs might be considered too much hazzle for very minor changes.

But until then I will keep using custom ffb files.

Cheers!

Hey man, so I managed to download the latest BETA with the V1.0 content, but I cant download the full release cos my internet is horrible.
Did a few laps in Bathurst and Curitiba FFB feels weaker somewhat in general, but nothing else, Im using the last Nus-HeavyMessing before the V1 version.

Which one are you using, the same? Are you losing ffb? around the lap or straight out of the pits?

Hello Karsten,

I have been away from the game in the last couple of weeks and just upgraded to 1.0 last night. I was also slightly disappointed with the default FFB so I am using your custom file instead.

On this point below, which parameter would need to be modified to further improve. The Friction?something else more specifically?

my TS PC wheel is say mid to high end belt driven wheel so I could indeed increase further the friction from the 0.04 you set in your file, right?

Even more it lacks friction and momentum resistance on steering angle changes. The steering feels like a lose rubber band around the center, specially at low Lfb, which is really preferred on higher end wheel bases.

I'm using the latest heavy messing file, cornering ffb feels excellent but hasn't got much straight line feel, whereas the silver raw file has excellent straight line feel but rubber bands in the corners (mostly left handers for some reason).
I'm going through the thread to look for some older ones to try again.

Hi NoLive, welcome back then!

Yes, you should be ok to adjust that higher. Maybe try something in the interval 0.07 to 0.1, if you feel it too light.

And if you did not yet, then go for a ride in that new GT4 on Bathurst!
JC it's awesome! Did a multiplayer session of 24 ppl yesterday & that combination is just a killer :)

Cheers!

Ok, so we are in the same file then, strange I don't think i noticed that. I will try it again later and let you know, but other than the lighter ffb, apparently it feels fine.

ok

did just that, taking the Ginetta to Bathurst and it was great indeed.I increased Friction to 0.07 and now I think I am good to go.

But having said that, I decided to take the Gin to Monaco next and oh boy what a blast it was:cool:.

I dont know if my heart is speaking here because I spent almost 4yrs of my automotive career there but it was one of the best Simracing experience I have ever had.

and then silly me, for the sake of comparison, I took the same car on the same track in Monaco in PC2 and despite all the tweaking I made on my Jake spade Custom FFB, clearly AMS2 is in another league now, for sure.

Hope Reiza can grab some big Sales from a wider users base so to keep on developing the damn thing, but honestly I dont see myself playing much of PC2, RF2 or AC in the coming weeks:p

Right! Bathurst & Monaco are incredible!
I'm hoping long term they'll move to a cheaper version than i(ce)racing, but a long term continued dev plan just the same.
SR's and all.
Would be awesome with a serious contender & with that GT4, Monaco & bathurst, I think they've proven they can deliver. Laser scans no strictly required the way some of these tracks look & feel!

It's hard for me going to those other sims as well as they all feel kind of numb compared now...

Monaco must have been a great experience?? Nice weather & sea! I've been there once or twice, but that was more casino-driven :)

Cheers
