Automobilista 2 Custom Force Feedback - Overview & Recommendations

    Hello!

    As I see in @Danielkart file ffb_custom_settings for Thrumaster TS-XW:

    # In Game: Gain 70-80 / LFB 0-5 / FX 20-25 / Damping 0

    # Base Settings:
    # Rotation: 900

    # Overall Strength of the forces: 75%

    # Constant: 100%
    # Periodic: 100%
    # Spring: 0%
    # Damper: 100%

    # BOOST( Constant + Spring) : OFF

    # Auto-Center Settings: by the Game 50%

    My wheel has up to 1080 degrees
    Do I have to reduce the degrees in the base to 900, or is it correct with the maximum it has?

    # Auto-Center Settings: by the Game 50%
    I have this at 0%

    Is it advisable to change it to 50?
    I really don't know what this is for

    I have spring and damping forces at 25% and 0% respectively
    I don't know if it would be too much, but set the latter to 100%, as stated in the file

    Another thing I've noticed is that when I come to a chicane, I have to be careful with the steering wheel on the exit, because it seems as if the steering wheel wants to return to its original position, so I have to take them slowly.

    Hey Tony!
    You still have settings from previous files here. It's better to take the latest file V6000 extreme 3, which also contains the changed settings for your base and the in-game settings. And yes, use 900 degrees for your base

    Both a) and b) are correct.
    I want FullFFB to have both but keep in mind... different wheelbases show up frequencies differently... so a scrub effect on my Moza R12 can be a total mess on other manufacturer's wheelbase (or even on a different wheelbase from Moza).
    I'll post a new version soon (not Reiza's "soon" :D) and then I'm going to take some time to make the various variables easier to change (I'm not expecting Reiza to have time, or will, to implement this).

    Hi Egor.
    Noticed your post today and just thought I would share my opinion with you.
    First of all, which ffb profile are you using and what wheelbase do you use?
    For reference I use default ffb most of the time and a 20nm direct drive simplicity wheelbase ( small midge motor).
    I have to say in my experience I do get the experience you are looking for, definite decrease in load on the wheel when front tyres lose grip either because of understeer or brakes locking up or both.
    The only times I've experienced the opposite is when using Danielkarts custom files, he chooses not to implement those effects in his files unfortunately.

    No one to assist me on this ? :( The main problem is that the steering wheel vibrates heavily on straight roads or if I keep the car stationary .... Basically if I don't have my hands on the wheel and I'm in the car menu, it starts to vibrate and so does the whole cockpit I have

    There isn't enough information for anyone to help you. What kind of file do you use? Defaults from Reiza or a custom? If custom by whom? What do your in-game settings look like?

    Hi, fellow T818 user (not many of us around here).

    I'm using modified default custom file ("basic profile") where you can set parking force through FX slider and add some extra friction/drag force around center through DAMPING slider. I will post it when i get home.

    For now i can share my in-game and TM Panel settings. So in-game are:
    - GAIN 50,
    - LFB 2,
    - FX 75,
    - DAMPING 55,
    and TM Panel:
    - force 100%,
    - damping 2%,
    - linearity 1%,
    - mode extreme.

    Regarding in-game damping. Correct/preferred value may depend on the rim you are using (mine is F599XX Evo 30).

    In the TM driver panel , gain to 100% , damping 75% , linart 0% , performance mode .

    I'm with SF1000 .

    I see that you have set the attenuation to 75% both in-game and on the base. Especially in-game will cause you strong vibrations although of course I don't know exactly which file you are using. Vibrations can have many causes, from a steering angle that is too low to high FX values

    What's new:
    • Revised vertical bumps algorithm (including special offroad conditions)
    • Revised "weight transfer and details" section
    • Revised "rotation" section (less oversteer compensation). Use yaw_gain, yaw_ramp and yaw_relax to control it.
    • Adjusted scrub parameters
    • (please, read the notes - very important to achieve more pleasure and less pain...)
    Still to improve/implement:
    • Make parameters more comprehensive and easier to change (for other users)

    2. How do I increase the feeling of the curbs (not bumps)?

    The FullFFB result is a mixture of various components, there is no single way to change a feeling (which, btw, only you know what you're looking for - I may be pointing you in the wrong direction).
    You may be looking for yaw, accelerations and rear suspension cancelation and curbs amplification (using something like ??_bump_kerb).

    It needs some work to understand the implications of changing a single parameter and I can't do it for every single need :(. Sorry.

    What I'll try to do in the future is make this adjustments intuitive to other users, by exposing formulas and making some addicional comments.
