You can use the settings for your Simagic Base from Topspeed 4; it will work very well. But of course, you can also use your own settings.

    Hey guys!

Since I received inquiries about whether there would be a Topspeed 5 file for Belt/Gear/Hybryd bases, I've decided to post that file as well. It will also be published on page 458. Less of a flight sensation, less of a sliding sensation, and an adjusted steering response (as realistic as possible) have also been improved in this file, just like in Topspeed 5 for dds. This concludes my work with custom files for AMS2. I think there were a few people out there who could use it, and thanks to the guys who gave me valuable feedback.

Take care and play whatever you like, no matter what it is.
    Daniel

I can't thank you enough for your tireless work on FFB, Daniel! You are the best and I am sad that there won't be any more files from you. Nothing lasts forever...

Guys, i would like to change the vibration/scrub effect on tire slip of the default custom file that ams2 creates. Is there a way to do it?

Hey buddy! I'm still playing AMS2, but I won't be posting any more public custom builds. I'm only doing that for myself now. I'm focusing more on the new simulations that are coming out and on hardware. It's good to have some variety, otherwise you can get a very narrow perspective and to be able to judge objectively

Thank you Daniel! Without your custom FFB file I would probably never gotten as much into sim racing as I did. Stay safe and keep racing!

@Danielkart I downloaded your new V7000 Topspeed 5 file from page 458 (file #9) to use with my Simucube 2 Pro.

I don't see the Simucube wheelbase settings in the TXT file. Are these still the same from the base V7000 file I'm using up until now?

    # For Simucube 2 Pro 25Nm (With new Simucube software 2024.7.1 and new Reconstructions Filter V2)

    # In Game: Gain 65%
    # LFB 0
    # FX 12-18% or for all Ralley Cars and Karts 20-30%
    # Damping 0

    # Base/ TRUEDRIVE:
    # Overall strength: 40% - 50% (Depending on the car)
    # Steering Range: 900
    # Bumpstop feel: Medium or Hard
    # Bumpstop range: 900
    # Simucube Force Reconstruction Filter V2: 5 (with old Reconstruction Filter on 2)
    # Torque band width limit: Unlimited
    # Damping: 0% or 1%
    # Friction: 0% or 1%
    # Inertia: OFF (Can be increased for very light wheels)
    # Static force reduction: 4-8% (Reduces the high forces in curves and increases the feedback of fine details ) for Ralley Cars 15-25%
    # Slew rate limit: OFF
    # Ultra low latency mode: OFF
    # Center frequency Hz : Filter disabled
    # Centering force : OFF

    # DirectImput Effect Fine Tuning
    # Damping: 100%
    # Friction: 100%
    # Spring: 100%
    # Sine wave: 100%
    # Square wave: 100%
    # Sawtooth: 100%
    # Triangle: 100%

In Topspeed 5 for DDS, I only have the settings for VNM base. But you can copy the base settings from Topspeed 4 (file 7) for your Simucube2. This will work perfectly with the Topspeed 5 file. Be sure to set Reconstruction Filter V2 to 4 or 5. Anything below that will produce high-frequency noise and a grainy feel in the steering axis.

Thank you @Danielkart for all your work. I think the timing of your decision is quite appropiate; I know it's not a factor in your decision, but it comes at a moment where AMS2's default profiles evolved to a point where many users, myself included, switched back to them in the last two updates. Your work made the game more enjoyable to a lot of people, and was one of the reasons AMS2 became my main sim for the last 3 years. Saying TY is actually not nearly enough, but that's what I've got.

Keep enjoying simracing your way, because as you've said, that's all that matters.

Thanks! To be honest, I get bored playing the same simulation all the time. I also love rally games or trying out new ones. AMS2 was a great time and still is. But I've had enough of it for now and am focusing on other simulations. Yes, play what you enjoy, that's the most important thing.;)

This is now my go to config. It feels connected. Only thing missing is the subtle weightless sensation when the car is almost airborne, like the one experienced on the higher part of Bathurst, but I think this is the price to pay to be able to feel more planted all the time.

    GWiz Anti-float FFB file:

Even with the improvements to the default profiles in the latest updates, I disliked the 'rubber band' feeling from the default settings with a lack of road texture and an overly aggressive 'return-to-centre' feel.

I've largely enjoyed using the various DanielKart FFB custom files and found them to be much better than the default profiles as far as the road feel and realism. Though DanielKart is no longer releasing any new files, his prolific posting along with suggested settings for multiple bases has been a real boon for the AMS2 community looking to try a custom FFB file that is well tuned.

There are some situations however that the Danielkart FFB fails to give good feedback of the tyre grip in my opinion. Diving into the files, this is largely due to the disabling of the earlier RFuktor Tyre_resistance 2 and 3 formulas which prevent adequate feedback in faster corners such as the 2nd from last corner of Spielberg where I found my virtual Mclaren unexpectedly spinning out on occasion with no feedback to tell me why. There are also some other areas where the FFB code has become broken with regards to grip loss with rear settings overwriting the front grip loss values. I found the Danielkart files to be good, but not quite right in the grip-feel for me.

Karsten Hvidberg who made and developed RFuktor from which the majority of custom FFB files are derived from (including all the DanielKart files) released a final version this year and further developed the FFB physics with his latest and final "Eddie de Beer & Friends Tribute" file. This file goes even further than the previous Rfuktor files and gives immense detail to the force feedback for AMS2 building upon the files that DanielKart has been tuning for the masses over the last few years. Initially I started changing the Danielkart files to my tastes, but with the issues with broken formulas and latter improvements being made to the mechanics of the Rfuktor base file, I decided to work with the more advanced Rfuktor FFB file instead.

Out the box, I personally found the latest Karsten RFuktor to be too light in the road bumps, texture and kerb details and to have a very aggressive snap-oversteer that made it difficult to recover naturally from slides. I've tuned the file to my personal tastes and posted it here.

The posted file is based on a Simucube 2 Pro with the base at 100% (I like to maintain a very hard bump-stop) and in-game gain at 45 to 50%, FX slider at 50% and LFB and damping at 0%.

FFB is subjective and you may prefer tame the bumps and textures or make other fine adjustments of the relative levels of FFB in more detail than can be adjusted by simply moving the FX slider in game. One of the main advantages of the posted file are the added comments throughout the file for the more important settings that will hopefully make it relatively simple for you to fine tune this file to your own taste by describing the effects that would be expected by the various settings and to try to demystify the complexity of the custom FFB file. Please feel free to add further descriptions and preferred settings to the file so that it can be further improved and can aid more sim-racers who have their own FFB settings nearly right if only I could feel the kerbs more etc.

Thanks! And which wheelbase are you using? If you use SC 2 Pro .. can you post your profile? :)

At the moment, I'm just running the SC2 Pro plain. 100% Gain in Truedrive, 900 degree wheel lock, Hard bump stop and no added filters. Damping, friction etc all at zero.

And your reconstruction filter and slew rate?

Actually, tell a lie. I forgot I had 3% Friction and 3% Inertia. Slew rate limiting is off and reconstruction filter is on 2.
