Hi @Danielkart. I like you latest file, but there is one thing missing for me, and was wondering if there was a line that could be changed to give me what I want. In some files, off the start especially, I get a vibration through the wheel if I get too much wheelspin. Yours has nothing, no matter how much wheelspin I get. Is there a way to get this in your file? Thank you.

Moza wheelbase owners might find this video useful. The Boosted Media YT channel thinks the "Hands-On Protection" setting has been interfering with rotation and/or feedback. @Coanda @Marius H Please move this post elsewhere (or delete it) if you think it's not suitable for this thread.

Nothing new here. I've been recommending disabling this setting in the default settings for a long time, ever since I've owned the Moza R21. This setting causes anomalies when it's enabled. I've never understood why YouTubers recommend activating it.

    @Danielkart @GWiz
I’m currently using the Gwiz adaptation of the Danisl Kart file that posted after Daniel left.

I love this file and honestly can say that it gives me a very nice true feeling of driving on track, however, I don’t like the steering going light when I lose traction, I understand some people want this as a means of feeling grip, but the truth is, when I drive my own vehicle and cars at my track, when I lock up or me wheels stop moving the car does not get light, quite the opposite, to move those tires as they are being pushed, burned and locked into the ground is almost in possible.
Therefore I would like to know if GWiz has his exact file, but with a way to remove or reduce the light feeling when locking up etc.

Additionally, Daniel’s files have been a staple for me over the years, constantly bringing me back to the game, will we see more of these customs as they are very good and I can see myself swing back to them as they don’t seem to have this fake light wheel on lock up etc.

I think Danielkart may have had second thoughts regarding his retirement from FFB files, he's posted a new one recently. Welcome back Danielkart?

To get the feeling you are after, you could try some or all of these alternative settings:

    (front_griploss_scale 0.70)
    (rear_griploss_scale 0.75)
    (FRONT_GRIP_DROP_SHAPE 1.25)
    (REAR_GRIP_DROP_SHAPE 1.20)
    (FRONT_GRIP_DROP_MIN 0.18)
    (REAR_GRIP_DROP_MIN 0.15)
    (yaw_scale 1.30)
    (lat_load_shift_scale 0.35)
    (oversteer_boost 1.0)
    (oversteer_boost_end 0.65)
    (FALLOFF_MIN 0.12)
    (GRIP_FLOOR 0.12)

In addition, you could try for a heavier snap on grip regain:

    (YAW_GAIN 0.40) ; From 0.30: Stronger bite
    (YAW_BLEND_MAX 0.50) ; From 0.40: More room for impulse
    (BITE_CAP 0.12) ; From 0.10
    (REBITE_GAIN 0.08) ; From 0.06: Edgier catch

These are all the settings I can think of that may make the file closer to a feel of a heavier wheel after losing grip. You may have to try them individually or in combinations (restarting AMS2 after each change annoyingly!) It would be nice if you could store 2 presets to quickly swap between to test changes - it would make testing FFB files much easier but I guess it's a bit of a niche requirement. You can use Ctrl-F to search quickly for these settings, most are in the Rack Settings section.

Great job on your ffb file. I noticed you have no mention of a g920 wheel, anything I should do differently?

Hello! I have R5, and have found the latest karsten and gwiz modification to work the best. for now i use gwiz file as i prefer the more realistic back to center forces, as i found them a bit too harsh on karsten's file.

    Pit house settings:
    max steer angle: 900
game ffb and max torque: 100%
    hands protection: off
    max wheel speed: 100%
    interpolation: 0
    damping: 0
    friction: 20%
    inertia: 0
    wheel spring: 0
    temp control: radical
ffb equalizer: 15hz and 25 hz to 20%. all other to 100%
    ffb curve linear

    ams2 in game ffb:
    gain: 40-50% depending on car
    lfb: 0
    fx: 20
    damping: 5

    controls configuration:
    throttle sensitivity: 10%
    brake sensitivity: 20%

with these settings i have smooth and detailed ffb with no clipping or wheel going crazy on high speed straights.

There are a few things to keep in mind when using Moza bases to ensure you get the best experience.

    1. As mentioned above, turn "Hands-Off Protection" off. Otherwise, you'll experience anomalies.

    2. Moza bases tend to have very high torque, more so than other bases. Therefore, I recommend reducing the "Maximum Output Torque Limit" to about 90%. This also prevents excessive heat buildup, which is important to consider with an R5.

    3. Moza bases tend to vibrate strongly. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable that you'll need to set the "Natural Inertia" to about 250% on an R5.

    4. Leave the FFB Effect Equalizer and FFB Curve on Linear. Anything else is not recommended.

Whether you use a custom or default setting is up to you, but keep in mind that this can also change your settings.

    Hi Daniel!

    2. for me max torque of 100 still makes the best sense with gain not more than 50% in game. but i can only say it about R5.

    3. with settings i mentioned i have no such vibrations. and i use 0 inertia, as i hate the feeling with any added inertia.

    4. why anything else is not recommended? because i find the equalizer the most powerful setting to adjust for your FX likings, at least for the custom files i mentioned.

Great job with this FFB profile.

The feeling of understeer is how I like it now. And the feeling of the brakes locking is nicely done too.

Thanks for adding all the comments in the file too - its interesing reading.

Thank you for the tips ! As i am new to DirectDrive wheels could you please post a picture of the FFB Effect Equalizer ? I am not sure what "linear" is meant to represent, as in all values at 100% ?

Thank you i will give that a try !

Keeping the settings neutral or linear is the right approach 90% of the time. Yes, there are exceptions, but that's a different story. Of course, every user can adjust it to their personal preference; it's entirely up to them. You can also download my file at the top of this page; it will show the settings for your MozaR5, regardless of which file you ultimately choose. There you'll also see what I mean by linear.

This one is really good for G29. With this weak wheel is the first that can properly self align fast without any input and I like the fact that the FFB don't be confused in understeer to oversteer, have much more linear feeling than Default or Default +.

    Great work.

    Moya R5 with rFuktor 5013:

With these tweaked settings, i did a 45 minute online race in full rain conditions in the BMW GTR 2004 at Imola 2001 and had ALL the feeling in the feedback where i never lost the car and was always able to catch it when pushing to the limit, and out of 14 drivers finished finished 4th.

If you struggle to find good settings with the Moza R5, i recommend giving this a try.

Does someone have tips to feel the load on the front tires better? I have tried both default and custom files ( rack force, fullffb) and can feel which side the grip is on but hardly feel the fronts loading up. I feel no difference in torque when locking up the fronts nor increase in torque when trail braking on my Moza R3. I tried a varied combination of gain, fx and dampening combinations to no avail

Its worth checking out the Gwiz file - that might suit you nicely.
