Sorry if I'm being a bit stupid here...

From looking at your instructions and the scoop output from FCM, I can see how you got this line by entering the scoop knee & scoop reduction values:

    (output (scoop output 0.50 0.52))

But I don't understand how you got the values in this line (I assume it is from the Deadzone removal value?):

    (output (tighten output 0.17 0.012))

These are my best R2 values:

    Scoop knee: 0.79
    Scoop Reduction: 0.63
    Deadzone Removal: 0.03

    Any help appreciated.

Second value in tighten function should be something around 1/10 of the first one ('Deadzone Removal' in FCM). So you can test values between 0.003 - 0.001.

More info here > Deadzone Removals(TightenCenterRange/Falloff)

    @TomP

So as I hear this, it seems these g-series bases require each their own values? Not by g-number, but individually for each user's sample?
If so, is there a sweet spot that fits all fairly well, do you know?

I'm afraid there is no 'sweet spot' for g-series.
From my example > FMC shows that 'Deadzone Removal' value of 0.15 is optimal for my wheel but a use 0.17 because ffb feels so much better then.

Anybody up for a sanity check, I'd be interested to hear if these changes to values feels like an improvement as it's somewhat more lively, or if it's way to much or not enough?
    for any wheel base type:

    (longitudinal_scale 0.6)
    (lateral_scale 1.3)
    (balance_scale 0.03)
    (balance_scale_hi_df 0.03)
    (exaggerate_over_steer 0.5)
    (master_rack 1.80)

    (suspension_scale 1.0)

Then, further down the file, change this line:
    (lateral_pct (+ 0.05 lateral_steer))
    to this:
    (lateral_pct (+ 0.2 lateral_steer))

    ?

Even my Belt t300 has a FFB dead zone, and depending on system settings in cp, it can be surprisingly big.
    Between 0.09-0.12 removal.
But I think using these figures in conjunction with LFB centre boost will feel different to using the values in normal files.
So I would think anyone trying this would need to have LFB at zero or very minimal.

I haven’t tried using scoops in this system as I think you have already created a balanced force.
Scoops can be really beneficial if you want to try adding it into a default custom file for example.

Making life easy for us to compare, an alternate popped/stronger alternative:
I am thinking maybe it needs even more pop, so it's more aligned to "Default", but with improvements.

    * More pop/spark & strength.
    * Hopefully fixed bug that caused values to go awry between sessions of different cars.

Some cars feel better more "popped" and g-series sounds to benefit from strenghtened signal.

Way too much pop in my opinion...
On my DD1 version .39 feels a lot more rough and harsh than .38.
Tested with McLaren GT3 on Nordschleife, and had to turn down gain by 30% to get anywhere near the feel of .38, and still it felt harsher and less refined...
.38 is my favourite so far :)

Right, I suspect it will depend hugely on both wheel base and preference of car driven.
The force was brought up to be about on par with the Default, so it is def. on the strong side.
Also the rack should feel different and more "popped", other than just pure strength, so will be interesting to hear for other wheel base types as well :)

    Torstein,
    posted 38.1 for you:

    * Same as .38, with the bug fix for awry cross-sessions, as well as more adjustability by values, but otherwise same feeling.

So aside from the bug fix, it also is exact feeling of .38, but with the added adjustment values as in .39, so more adjustable.

He was quick of the mark today with a video explaining the update. Was probably not a visual masterpiece, but for me as some who struggles to find time to read articles or messages in the day time due to being at the wheel with eyes on road, it was bloody handy to have the audio playing through stereo ( that’s pretty much the only time I have with you tube, kinda like audio books ). Saved me a bit of time so thanks for that @steelreserv

is it weird to quote your self .

Anyway I’ve been doing some testing with dead zone application in file, and if I make get the fall off values higher than the one tenth range up to about one and a half to two tenths of Removal, I can eliminate the oscillation ( quite minor ones to begin with. ) with wheel pointing straight etc.
And it’s not being negatively affected by LFB value, so now I’m getting a more solid feeling wheel and it’s helpful with accuracy , especially through en-rouge at Spa,

so go ahead and do it if you don’t have a DD .
I’m running 0.12 / 0.02 and not getting any notches.

But you should use the FCM to get you removal value to start, mine actually suggests 0.13 removal, so if I can get the right Fall off it should be a smidge better.

    Hi Karsten,

I've been using Silver Raw v6.6.5.21 since it's release. I often try your more recent files, but I never find one that surpasses .21. Unfortunately, I am unable to say what it is that I like about this file, it just seems to have 'more life' than subsequent releases.

I'm really happy to stay with this file, I'm having a great experience with it, but a few releases back (~.30 I think), you mentioned you had fixed a bug. I'm wondering, is the bug you fixed something I should be concerned with?

As I said, I'm very happy to stay with this older file, but if there is a fundamental problem with it, could I copy some code to rectify it?

    Thanks for any help... :)

    Great info,

I will go and try it to learn what's working for you & also check for that bug thing :)
Which cars do you drive mostly?

    Thanks a million. :)

The cars I’m gravitating towards lately:

    Merc GT1
    Porsche cup 3.8
    McLaren GT3
    P4’s

I pretty much never drive F1 (apart from f retro). Too fast for me!
