    HI Nolive,

    I ran a tspc racer prior to the dd wheel I have now, pretty sweet wheel for specially pc2, as I remember it.
    I think the custom ffb I did yesterday morning will work great with it.

    Start from fx 50 and Lfb 50.
    Then go higher on the FX if it's not enough.
    I made that file pretty juicy at 50 exactly to allow to go both lower on fx as well as higher to make it even juicier.
    Its been reported to work very well on a csw 2.5 as well.

    You know i say that on every single forum i am on, i really feel this TS PC RACER being too much underrated by the community. I had both that one and a CSL Elite and you know which one i kept lol) the TM was really dynamic in comparison to the somehow sluggish rubbery feel of the Fanatec but thats another topic.

    Finally had a chance to try this out. It's not for me as the jerk road noise is too great and drowns out other effects. I'm surprised it is working for you as the scoop function has been set back to default which means you won't get the scrub effects till very high levels of slip angle like before. Looking at the changes, all it is doing is massively boosting the old scrub settings and adding very high road noise. If it's working for you though, great!

    Thought I'd give a bit of an explanation of what I understand the important functions to be doing in case anyone wants to tweak them.

    The scoop function is the main one that controls when the scrub effect is felt:
    scoop <input> <knee> <reduction>

    The knee controls at which point the reduction is applied and will create an input output mapping similar to this where knee is 0.6 and reduction is 0.9:

    The scrub effect is a continuous function where FL_scrub appears to be related to slip angle, so applying scoop will control when you start to feel the effects. If you don't apply the scoop you will get continuous noise that increases in volume at greater slip angles.

    The second function is the oscillator. This will determine the frequency of the scrub effect felt:
    oscillator <value>

    The value for the oscillator seems to have a best range of between 1.0 - 2.0 where increasing values decrease the oscillation frequency. For a high frequency scrub vibration use 1.0 and for a low frequency use 1.8. The lower the frequency the softer the effect so would need scaling higher.

    I've attached a new file which has the values tweaked a little bit to give a lower oscillation frequency and for the scrub effect to come in closer to when you can hear the tyres squeal. Should help with pushing to the edge.

    These values obviously don't change per car so the scrub effect is always going to be very similar in feeling. Hopefully Reiza will be implementing something which will be specific to each car / tyre.

    Tbh just having the possibility of feeling/tweaking the scrub is so good I dont really care about per-car effect :cool:

    I was exactly just adjusting road and also engine to be lower as it's been reported by others too & I agree.
    Additionally fixed the scrubbing to be better in this one. It now feels good to me, as it does not add noise when driving straight, which the one you suggested earlier did. It is set somewhere in between original & your suggestion from earlier.
    Also fixed the lfb to not be so wild on the scrub, which I just found out added some unintended noise at angle 0.

    The idea of this ffb file was to have everything come together, so it does not feel artificial when going from one effect to another. The blending part.

    Anyways, thanks for your feedback & help!

    @Karsten Hvidberg does this file changes or influences the New default by any means?
    I'm not having any issues and I'm using custom now, but I'm wondering if it's just a matter of switching back the new default in-game if I decide so or I have to upload the original file again.

    What happens to the custom as well when the next update from Reiza comes out?

    Custom stays the same until you manually delete it. (which happens with the whole mydocs folder removal too). Then it generates a new one.

    Careful with just renaming them, not sure if its a bug but I renamed a custom file, game generated a new one but this new one was exactly the same as the one I renamed! Its odd, now I just move it to a backup folder.

    How does this custom ffb file work with a T300. I've just read the last page of this thread, anyone else got a T300 using it? @Shadak is this the file you guys were mentioning on discord?

    Sort of :) ... the one I have only adds the scrub effect (not that much as I can easily feel it on DD).
    Some of these files alter the LFB/Road feel as well, give it a go and if you feel like you want default + scrub let me know or try the one from NewScorpi but I think it was changing something else too.

    From my experience those custom FFB files work very well on non DD wheels too (T500RS here), you just have to customize your in game Gain, LFB and FX to your taste on "Custom". Really better than the "New Default" from Reiza IMHO. Next update will probably change FFB again so will see :)

    No, the custom file does not affect old or new default in any way.
    Also, when you delete it & restart the game, the original custom ffb file will be put back too.
    When the next version comes out you are normally advised to delete the whole "automobilista 2" folder under Documents. So you just do that.
    Hopefully next version will blow our minds and these files won't be required to bring it back to life. Or maybe the next after that... Otherwise we prob. have to make new adjusted ffb custom files for some of us to be happy :)

    If you don't want road noise or engine noise you can easily adjust:

    (road_scale 0.4) to (road_scale 0.0)
    or
    (engine_scale 1.0) to (engine_scale 0.0)

    (You can also set them higher if you feel them too low for your liking, of course.)

    Again, start from fx 50 & lfb 50, then go up/down on fx if you think it's too much/too little.

    New FFB custom file is attached here(improved scrub & road noise & separating them from each other so road noise is faster than scrub).

    The file I posted above should work pretty well for you. You might want to set the rack_lfb_ratio closer to 1.0 though as that will increase the LFB effect for the main rack forces more like default.

    In all honesty, I think the advice right now should be to wait. There is another FFB update coming very soon, which means spending hours tweaking and testing right now is literally a waste... it could all be undone by the update. This update is supposed to make the FFB ready for the v1.0 release, which means it will be a proper foundation to start tweaking.

    Only if you used to like how it felt before these last updates & can't live without those things now missing should you waste your time.

    Some of us just can't help it. There are 2 reasons for me personally:

    * Addiction: I got used to the effects from before the last cpl updates & miss them now that they are pulled out, probably temporarily, to be replaced with more correct versions. Big bonus is that the custom ffb files make it feel even better than it ever did, since the physics model in AMS 2 has been improved underneath.

    * LFB: The way the LFB is added in the current form & has been for a while, creates a fight for center effect when you set the LFB higher. Easily somewhat remediated in the custom ffb file, so the LFB can again be used without creating a feeling that no normal car exhibits, where the center of rotation is "a very special place" :)

    The custom ffb files that are posted here all fix these issues & hopefully @Goffik is right & we can stop this junkie work soon :)

    It's worth mentioning that you can always save these custom files with version / creator details for future use or reference in your own source folder.

    In the event some of us rely on custom profiles over the long term, it'd be useful to have multiple custom profiles accessible from the game UI with more complex naming and a description / note feature.

    As mentioned a couple of pages back, learning the intricacies of how the custom FFB works is a very useful exercise. As we get close to or at "final" FFB from Reiza's perspective it will help provide advice about how they can optimize things, or, worse-case scenario, we then know what to tweak for that last 5% of subtlety that we obsessives will want.

    If there were a couple of dozen of us who understood as much you wizards in this thread, I postulate that the FFB in AMS 2 would have already been completed by now because the feedback in alpha and pre-EA beta would have been so much more sophisticated and accurate.
