Ah Ok sorry cant see sigs on a phone. Right so I probably wouldnt worry about those as ams2 is regularly changing ffb now. I think mine is about 15 nat damping (might be more) and 8 friction.

edit: just realized you said dev not fanatec dev :) thats more credible but still subjective in terms lf weight of the wheel.

Maybe see if lowering the Lfb rack rate value in the custom ffb file is what you want?
It is currently as 0.3, you could change it to 0.0. It might do the trick.

What's your Natural Damper / Friction / Interia set to in the Fanatec control panel?

Gah I dont know how to quote multiple people sorry.

jpmmuc- I'll give your settings a go, see how much that changes from what im using.

Shadak- Im using 15 Nat damping and 5 friction, so close to yours. YHoure right though, wheel weight IS subjective.

Karsten- Cheers mate, I'll have a play with it tonight!

    NuScorpii- 15 / 5 / 20 respectively

In each post you want to quote click '+Quote', next to reply, and then in the reply box click 'Insert Quotes' after then it's pretty self explanatory.

I think it is your Inertia that is causing the heavy wheel effect. Adding inertia is to make up for a light wheel and make it feel like a heavy wheel. Damping seems a bit high too. I would try changing you Inertia first down to 5 or less and see how it feels, then maybe reduce Damping a bit to taste.

    @Goofball Antics ,
    I 2nd NuScorpii's suggestion on the intertia.
Do that first & only if that is not enough, then change the lfb rack rate value downwards.

Lads, the lower inertia looks to have made a significant difference! I haven't tried reducing the lfb rack rate yet, i'll tinker more with it tomorrow but it feels a lot better already. Maybe I shouldn't be sliding a Caterham around with a formula style rim in the first place, but just because you shouldn't doesn't mean that you can't...
    Thanks a tonne everyone!

Haven't gone into it again since making the file work last night, but I did reduce the tyre/scrub_vibe to 0.7 and kept road_scale at 0.75 I think. I feel like I'm narrowing into a complementary tyre feel to the road feel upon cornering/understeer if that makes any sense.

I'm finding the scrub quite brute/rough in some cars/occasions, but there's a compromise to it as well because on some occasions when it is more intense it also feels more informative. So I'm still playing around with trying to find the lower "but much needed" ideal tyre scrubbing feel, and high enough to perfectly give you that sense of edge "limit" of pushing the car around.

I welcome your suggestions again, and if I didn't say before :D amazing work in this file!

Are we all gonna have an EA release race on an agreed upon car/track combo sometime this week end?
Might be fun to see who's the real daddy running custom ffb?
If so, suggestions for cars or tracks and time are welcome!

With a Formula style rim you could try Nin at 5.

    Loving these custom files guys!

Question: if I want to tone down the “driving on marbles” feel, where is the best place to start? Is it the in game sliders or a value in the custom file?

    I’m on a CSW Elite (PS4) and using 75/50/50.

    Thanks!

By "driving on marbles" do you mean how shaky the wheel is or the grip levels? If it's because of the shakiness try turning down the road_scale parameter in the custom ffb file. I use 0.3.

Where can I download those FF-files and is it worth it for my old G27-wheel or does it only make sense with high-end-wheels (DD wheels...)?

    Hi Mike,

Last update was posted on prior page of this thread (pg 46) by @jpmmuc .
Seems to work well across most wheel bases :)
