Hopefully the planned updates from Reiza on modding make this process a thing of the past...

It's a choice between the release candidate and the mods for me atm...

The last thing this Sim needs is mods...its just more unpolished content.
    Mods extremely complicate MP aswell.

A lot of times even official content is nowhere near realistic, mods are just a gimmick with no real value for AMS2 imho. If you want to play with thousands of mods you can do that already in AC.

The manpower of the dev should be put where it is really needed, MP, AI, HUD...

You don't have to use mods, you can stick to official content only both online and offline. Other people using mods won't affect how you play your game.

I didnt say you need my or any permission at all, i said if you WANT you COULD.

In AC the amount of modded cars and tracks do affect the MP experience, not only does it make the game vulnerable to cheaters, it also creates a huge amount of lobbies with custom content but with barely any participants.

Dont get me wrong, i am not against the idea of a mods in general, its just, as i said in my post, not even remotely a thing this sim would benefit from in terms of userbase. Look at this forum post for example. The issues this SIM has is not the lack of mod support. The core of the game needs to be polished to a) make it a better SIM and b) attract more people. With introducing mods at the current state of the game, you will end up do the exact opposite for now.

Rather than having AMS2 do all the things, but in an unpolished state, i rather have it do one or two core features great. Sadly this isnt the case for a large amount of sim racers as of now.

The new track mods seem pretty good as-is (for SP at least). The AI worked great and I had a really fun race. I like point to point racing and the AI and FFB in AMS2 is already better than PC2. The tracks also work with custom championships so I don't see any downsides.

The support from Reiza won't detract from anything they were doing before.

As for AC, the mods absolutely overtook that game. The integration with Discord makes it easy to stay current though. I haven't ran into cheaters but that's probably because I either run in a league race for historic cars or run Shutoko/Akina for fun. For everything else I'd recommend SRS or something similar.

In this case yes but I don't think that is always the case.

I deactivated the cars and bootfiles, then deleted and replaced the car folders. Then I activated the cars and bootfiles.

Do you mean that sometimes we only need to update the boot files? Seems like a long process to have to re-download all mods to update them

So imagine for us modders, we have to take care of updating them! It is even longer and more difficult.
Most game updates don't affect the mods themselves, but for some big updates we need to update some files. This is the case with the last one, many elements have been added to the cockpit, which made the old parameters obsolete.

The only mod I really want for AMS2 right now, is the Custom Grid mod that was available for PC2. It enabled you to select the exact individual cars and skins to be included in custom grids of your choice.

Currently, you can only choose which class(classes) you can race with, not the specific, individual vehicle within those classes. If I choose to race in the Group C class for example, you get a random selection of default/custom skins and cars I don't want - that Corvette GTP is far too OP, and I don't it anywhere near my Group C grids lol.

Are you talking about AMS2 (your post states AC)? If so, doesn't custom AI files enable you to do exactly what you want? ie. you create entries in your custom AI file for the specific cars you want to race against and the game then uses those cars in your race.
