Automobilista 2 Mods!!!

I like it. I learned PC2 drifting there ages ago, nice long corners linking corners that are perfect for nailing those transitions.

Only if it's the original version you are talking about... The current version is just lame in comparison...

I'll be happy to see Brno, but someone really needs to tackle Knockhill, Sonoma or Rouen...

 

Three questions for the modders:

1. How difficulty is it to convert a car from PCARS2 to AMS2?
2. Is it possible to convert cars from PCARS3?
3. Is it possible to convert content from other games that uses other engines?

I know nothing about modding, programming, etc. I'm just asking 'cause I'm curious about the possibilities offered by AMS2 and this engine.

 

Well, it certainly isn't LeMans, since they replied on a different post that they wont do LeMans because Reiza will release that themselves.

 

I would guess that info isn't supposed to be public knowledge yet. Though I would make sense given how heavily it's been hinted at.

 

1. Not easy, even for someone who has done mods for other sims.
2. Yes, but it's harder than 2...

The processes for scratch made models and physics (once hex coding is learned) is not much different than rF2... The tyres are a black art and no modder has figured them out yet... But with such a library in AMS2 of tyres that's not really a problem... And Reiza will hopefully give us some documentation or a tyre tool like rF2 did to help that process...

Tracks are a lot harder because there's a lot more to figure out, work on and no one has perfected it yet... Hence the need for the trees files and no scratch made tracks yet...

 

Well, considering one of the modders is hired by Reiza, it wouldn't surprise me they have some contact with Reiza to make sure they dont convert tracks that Reiza is planning on releasing

 

Was about to say COTA, that is one of my favorite tracks that i want in AMS2.

 

How many hours did it take you to convert this track? are you one of the modders from projectcarsmoddingteam?

Seems like the Indycar mod was removed from racedepartment, links to the mod are no longer working, and cant find it in the mods section, neither. It's a shame... you think they got a cease & desist or something like that?

Luckily, i downloaded the .zip the first day it was released, cause i was afraid something like this would happen.

Also, this topic seems to be bugged, you can't see the latest posts in the sub-forum, and won't update it's position based on the last replies. Coincidence?

Same for me. In Pcars this was one of my favourite tracks.

 

Great! As there is what seems to be a grandstand at the far right of the teaser screen, which I did not find looking for onboards, I was not sure.

 

Did not find footage, but WSPC with Group C cars did race at Brno too.
