the Indycar mod might just be the most satisfying content in the whole game. it is a game changer, i dont think F-USA 2023 will see much community support.

One thing i think might need work is that the AI stays too close together.

Does anyone know how to apply Driver suit liveries to the mods? I'm trying to override the pit crew as well to match but i think this is one for Reiza to tackle.

Highly opinionated blanket opinions are rarely helpful. Personally, until we have the ability to fade the centre pillar as would happen naturally with binocular vision, the IR-18 mod is close to undrivable outside of VR when in cockpit. The same is true of the latest F1 cars or anything with a halo. Other sims allow for fading or removal because they recognise not everyone has VR.

So, FWIW, the F-USA-2023 is substantially more likely to be fully embraced by the community than a flawed mod.

Is the mod flawed because of the aeroscreen or did you try it and are seeing issues?

When the game supports toggling on/off the protection pillars, we'll support it too. Disabling it by default goes against the authenticity we're trying to achieve with the mod. Hopefully this will come at the end of the month.

We're not trying to compete against the FUSA, I'm actually looking forward to it so we can learn about its implementation and hopefully improve the mod, while also keeping our identity as a separate car and not just a copy.

I don't see the mod as flawed, the center pillar isn't an issue for me personally. I still think the official car might see more use at least as long as installing mods is still somewhat cumbersome.

Because the F-USA-2023 will have a removable/transparant centre pillar? i wouldn't count on that, considering the F-Ultimate Gen1 and Gen2 also don't have that.

this doesn't say anything about the quality of the mod, and i have done a couple runs with the mod around indianapolis last night, on a single screen, and didn't have any issues with it, but i must admit i needed to get used to having the centre pillar there myself as well, but once you give it time, it becomes less of an issue.

I can't really get out of the pits. Just seems like I have a very slippy clutch. Almost no drive.

If you look at the screenshots on the April dev update post, particularly the first one, it doesn't appear to have a centre pillar at all.

Except I have next to no drive with it. Like a very badly slipping clutch.

When the halos first came into sim racing I hated them...

The only point that halo's annoy me these days is when I am trying to line up a pass or judge where the car in front is and they are right behind the halo... For the rest of the driving experience I've got used to it on a screen... I'd prefer to race without them but then that's why I want more historic stuff in AMS2 and it's also what the TV camera viewpoint is for...

Yes, I can confirm it, I regularly have the same thing, the clutch slips when starting, I have to reset the configuration, and sometimes several times before everything works normally again.

But once it's working, the car is great.

Same here with 1996 f1 mod by KAOS
You can solve the problem by activate the auto clutch.
