I think @Wolfgang Herold was asking this question because of the error message @Dale Ballweg is experiencing:whistle:

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions, I'm just going to delete and clean out my Enabled folders and mod folders and start from scratch and try it again. Just reading what everyone responded with helps my understanding. So appreciative of the help!

Do I need to put in the boot files in the enabled folder and if so which version? Do you then need to run the JSGME?

You only need bootfiles with JSGME. You put them in the Mods folder and activate it LAST

AMS2CM extracts it's own boot files from your AMS2 game locally so it's not needed anymore.

    that are 2 different tools.
    Don't mix it up.
either use AMS2CM or!!!!!!! JSGME, never both.

    Bootfiles needed:
    AMS2CM: no
    JSGME: yes

have to deactivate mods b4 steam update:

    AMS2CM: no (since V0.17 and newer )
    JSGME: yes

    have to extract zip/7z/rar files
    AMS2CM: no (uses archives only)
JSGME: yes ( folders needed per mod )

need to edit drivelines and tracklists every time
    AMS2CM: no
    JSGME: yes

So the only things I have in my enabled folder are: F1 1996 v1.02 and INDYCAR_2023 V2.0

Is that correct? I have AMS2CM folder in my mods folder. When I run the AMS2CM I get this message,
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No previous mods installed, skipping the uninstall phase.
No mod archives found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Mods\Enabled
    Press any key to exit.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    What am I doing wrong?

have you put the zipfiles of the mods in your enabled folder, or did you extract the zipfiles?

In the enabled folder you should only put the zip/rar files of the mods

    AMS2CM found your install of AMS2 here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2

If that's where your install is then the folder and file structure should look like this:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Mods\Enabled
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Mods\Enabled\KAOS AMS2 F1 1996 v1.02.rar
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Mods\Enabled\AMS2_INDYCAR_2023_v2.0.rar

    So:
    KAOS AMS2 F1 1996 v1.02.rar
    AMS2_INDYCAR_2023_v2.0.rar
Those two need to be inside the mod folder inside your AMS2 install which is listed above and from AMS2CM

That's one of the reasons why AMS2CM is sooo easy. Just download the mod, drop it in the Enabled folder and run AMS2CM. That's it. Nothing to modify or extract and no text files to edit.

Even with the latest AMS2CM, if I do not deactivate my Mods, AMS2, will show an error on install, and do a verification of files, which of course kills the mods. Strange.

Thunderflash released His final Mod for now (he Waits for 1.5 Release) with the Toyota GT-One, but its very OP and it is the wrong Liveries/Model for the class. But awesome to have of course
