Yeah, right, i did not realise the BB change was so cumbersome in 2006. I remember MS constantly changing it but I thought he used to reach you his left to do it and it was something smaller he adjusted it with. I have learnt something new today

 

It is another SAD, SAD day. It looks like our friend @Thunderflash has taken one too many kicks. He will be a very big loss to the AMS2 Community. Hopefully, either someone else will be able to carry on his Legacy, or he will return. @Thunderflash, you will definitely be missed. Come back soon.

Just checked, it was from a guy from the PC2 modding community, bro literally convert **** from Ams 2 to PC2 and want to call other ppl thieves

And that is probably gonna make things worst for the already small ams 2 modding community, KAOS haven’t posted anything for a while and believe or not there’s some good stuff coming to pc2 via mods, things that I woulda love to see on ams 2… I wonder if that could rift even more the pc2 modding community and the ams 2 community…

Uneducated guess: PC2 community is beginning to feel an inferiority complex, given the heights that AMS2 as a simulation is reaching with the same engine, and they know the only advantage they keep is certain pieces of content. This sucks though, I think we should get along just fine, people can enjoy either sim and not be bothered.

 

the worst thing is that nobody win with this, while there’s more ppl doing mods for pc2 than AMS 2 this is a lose lose situation, there’s a f1 2006 mod coming for ams 2 and if the folks from pc2 get more and more toxic to ams 2 folks I doubt the author of the mod will want to port it to PC2 (and keep in mind this is a scratch made mod not a port)

just like there’s some cool cars for pc2 (like 2011-2013 lmps, the whole 2016 grid and some interesting toys like the Lancia LC2, Toyota Eagle GTP, and even some folks bringing some LMH that if the people who bought it agrees, they could be ported to AMS 2 and vice versa and drama like this would potentially ruin it for everyone (the ams 2 modding community more since it is smaller and have less mods already but also the pc2)

and all of that because of a drama that coulda easily been resolved privately but instead the guy went to Thunderflash discord and trew a tantrum

 

Sounds like both communities would benefit from a mod manager program. Something that lets you load up a mod and then quickly swap tires and physics with other cars. Just to speed up making a baseline car so modders can focus on fine tuning. Not sure how difficult it would be (or if it's even possible) but it would result in an overload of mods lol.

 

not very simple cuz the physics of the cars are encrypted and messing with them via Hex editor is a pain

plus there’s no way for the program to convert the ams 2 physics to pc2 physics easily as there are some cars from both games that don’t even have a proper representation to base upon in the other game such as pc2 lmp1 or ams 2 stock cars

 

I suspect it's just Tribalism rearing its ugly head.

Unfortunately that's what I assumed. If it was easy it would've already been done. A guy can dream though lol. Hopefully some of the barriers can come down and the communities can converge.

Unrelated question. Are the recent AI improvements baked into the cars, tracks or a combination of both?
