Quite simply, thank you very much Reiza !!! This upgrade is excellent. I hope AMS2 gets the recognition it deserves.

 

Based on your videos comparing AMS2 with Raceroom (which I found very interesting btw) you have at least the base game. You are probably at least slightly interested in the game, otherwise you wouldn't lose your time here. So why are you discussing other people's opinions and not just making your own, specifically on these days that the new content is free? Just try it and if you like it, well good for you, and if you don't, play whatever other sim you prefer. It doesn't matter which product you search in internet, it always have negative and opposing opinions, literally everything, just search something that you love... so why focusing so much only on that? Give it a try man, you don't need to like it, but it doesn't make sense to be here discussing about it with some cherry picked opinions that you have taken as the truth

 

I’ve got a GT Neo connected via Maglink and USB, Simhub and it’s been ok for me. The only problem I had was I got a bit excited and forgot to plug the wheel in first run

 

Yes, Detroit is a must have! It could be used in more series - F1 80-ies, CART (raced 1989-91), and current Indycar!

My First Impressions After Three Hours of Gameplay

Overall, my impressions are very positive. There’s still a lot to try and test with all this fantastic content, but here’s what I think so far.

First of all, the quality of Sebring, Road Atlanta, and Mosport is outstanding. From my perspective, you’ve truly outdone yourselves here. It would be interesting to see similar updates for some older tracks... though that's more of a hope than an actual request, haha.

I’ve tried the Lamborghini GT3 and the Oreca 07 so far. Initially, I was a bit thrown off by how the cars handle, being used to version 1.5.3, but lap after lap... wow! It’s a completely different experience. The tire slip is still there, but now it feels far more believable, and when you overdo it, the car spins out. Previously, the challenge was just staying on track due to the excessive slipperiness (at least for my taste). Now, the challenge is finding the tire and grip limit—just as it should be in reality.

I also appreciate how brake and tire management have become more critical to achieving good performance on the track.

The sounds and technical execution are excellent. However, I’d make a small critique of the Oreca 07: the inner wheel arch could use a few more polygons, and the car’s sound sometimes has a slight crackle.

I also did a 45-minute multiclass championship race (P1 Gen1, P2, and GT3 Gen1) with the Sigma P2 at the Buenos Aires circuit. The AI seems a bit faster than before and more prone to making mistakes, but I’ll need to do more races to confirm this.

There might have been an issue with the safety car at the start of the race—it split the pack in two instead of positioning itself in front of the race leader. I’ll try to describe the situation in more detail on another occasion.

The new UI is great, and I find the preset function very useful. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s already much cleaner than before.

One small suggestion: adding an introductory cinematic when launching the game could enhance the feeling of starting something epic. For example, the cinematic published a few months ago on the official YouTube channel would fit perfectly.

Lastly, I’ve noticed occasional frame rate drops compared to before. At Mosport, for instance, after the hairpin, the game loses a bit of fluidity. I’m not sure if it’s due to new graphical settings or if it’s something that still needs a bit of optimization.

I can't thank the team enough for giving me so many hundreds of hours of entertainment.
There is so much big stuff in this update, but also a ton of little stuff that may go unheralded.
Like the presets!. An absolutely genius innovation to help us all find fun fast.

Even better than these Presets - and I absolutely love these guys.

 

The other day I saw a stream showing slider options for AI throttle and brake skill. Were these cut from the release version, or is my installation faulty, as I don't find them in my game?

 

At least it’s not just me then , I did a clean install after to see if it helped but it didn’t.
I hope they change it as I want to simulate an IMSA Championship and can’t at the moment.

 

This new update is amazing! Besides the great new physics, the graphics in VR is much better. Im enjoying a lot.
You guys did a great job Reiza! I'll buy the DLCs.

I dont see on mine either. I think they removed that or maybe some bug.
