They have been removed for now (supposedly to make remaining AI performance discrepancy reports more consistent), will probably be back in a future version.

 

Hi guys what a Lovely update i played it 3 hours yesterday and it ITS muuuuch better than 1.5, in my opinion when i start to play yesterday ITS like the physics of AC1 a d ITS a great thing !

 

I believe these settings are only for single races and not for championships.

 

Are you made because nobody cared about your comparison video ?

 

no AC fanboy here but he has still a valid point in my views, even after 1.6 release, being that cars in AMS2 lack of a realistic "weight" feeling into it compared to other Sims and in particular AC.
Now you can criticize his communication and say his driving IRL experience but I actually support that particular statement.

And I like AMS2 in many many ways, especially being a VR addict, its really that particular thing that bugs me the most (SIMAGIC Alpha owner here)

 

I concur. For me, though, if this update provides a frustration free MP experience in terms of the game side (not other player behaviour) then it has been worth the wait but I don´t expect miracles in terms of car handling. There is still no sweet spot for damping and speed sensitive steering and that will probably never happen unless there is way to incorporate custom min and max speed, like in RRE.

On another point, is it normal the Audi V8 has no ABS, whereas the other cars in the class do? I thought it was adopted in DTM in 1991 across the board.

 

Entire game improved a lot. Cars are definitely less slide-ish now. Reiza finally overcame its biggest handicap, the too forgiving driving behaviour. Cars handle plausible now and you can "work" them around the track. No complain here of a floaty or "weightless" feel. Not 100% par to LMU imo (but that my biggest compliment to Reiza I can make by comparing AMS2 to LMU physics!), but close (and really great in its own way!!), so it really delivers the 'joy of driving' where you can intuitively adjust at the limit. (Except the good old Porsche GT3R 911, i guess they forgot to apply the new tire model to this car. It still drives as slippery as before the update ). Also nice tweak of the graphics, shifting the look towards a realistic color grading. All in all, considering it's great VR, its variety of tracks and cars, easy accessibility, great menu, and now LFM multiplayer (!), AMS2 became doubtlessly a top not notch sim. Absolutely no problems with the update and DLC procedures. No need for me to touch any setting files or deleting folders. Even the Custom FFB profile feels as good as before. Two thumbs up.

 

Minor issue - the safety car is still being counted as a competitor, the beta testers said this had been fixed.

 

I never noticed this previously so not sure if this used to happen in 1.5 or not (Would think I would have noticed if it did though), but did the Formula Junior Tacho always go up in "steps"? Its non linear and jumps like the hands on an analogue clock as revs climb.

That said, I don't think I'm the only one in the world who looks at YouTube reviews to get an idea about a product otherwise YouTubers wouldn't do that job and wouldn't be so rich. Before gossiping and showing their frustration (I'm not referring to you who were kind) many users here should do some soul searching.

By the way, I don't have the chance to try it at the moment because I'm renovating my house and I dismantled the workstation to allow the workers to do the work, it came out right in the worst period for me, until Christmas I won't be able to play anything at all, The only way to get an idea about the goodness of the 1.6, at the moment is to see the online reviews and read the reviews on the forum.

Of course I'm interested in Automobilista 2 and of course I appreciate the work that Reiza is doing to improve it, I'm just bringing my humble point of view because I want the best and I'm not satisfied. What's the point of a thousand optimizations, reshades, reflections, particles, flakes and sparks if you then make me flatten the tire like a black spot placed so randomly on the tire without considering the lights and the steps? I lose the desire to play, if it's not a realistic thing don't do it, right?

I don't know maybe to the frustrated turbo granny, instead it seems fantastic as it is, given that he continues to act like a phenomenon, demonstrating only to be a superficial person who does not accept criticism of his favorite game.

Hi I have tried for a quick 10mins and yes I like it, I had to do a reinstall due to steam update so my setting have all changed, car feel alive now, liking the sound of the lambo, tried with light rain and liked the shine on the road in places,like the tire smoke seems to linger around using a quest 3, like the shaders, overall seems a very good update, will try more tonight once kids in bed, thank you for the hard work getting to this stage

 

Played it a lot last night. Every car is better, every track looks prettier, everything feels nicer. Thank you guys!

 

I don't mind increase the opponent break skills because in Daytona or Indianapolis Oval driving with the Ultimate Formula Gen 2, the entire AIs car slow down every time there is a turn allowing me to speed pass most of them (in rain).

 

There are a few cars like that coz that is apparently how they work in reality.

 

I also see a car in smoke lol...that was cool to see and then it went into pit stop lol.

 

uh, my favorite game is Baldurs gate 3, or the mass effect trilogy, hard to decide really.
