Completely irrelevant. If it causes errors, it could also be called a surprise controller.:p

I've been around the FFB discussion for a long time, but this is the first I have heard of this "error." Can you point us to examples of people experiencing this beyond one particular wheel/manufacturer?

…and does it also happen on Reiza's Default+/Default FFB profile, not just custom FFB files?

I have natural inertia at around 200, that eliminates oscillations for me and allows less damping in game.

How would you describe it Marc?
Personally I find it works as described but am intrigued as to what it's supposed to do now.

I think I would call it "Dynamism," which is why I would belong in an engineering department rather than marketing ;) It affects the springiness, or dynamism, of the wheel feedback rather than being a generic dampening, which is what the Damping on wheels provides. "Steering Dynamics" doesn't quite capture it because that could also describe some of what FX provides.

I'm thinking "Mystery Modifier" would just about cover it :D

Ah ok, that makes sense. It's important to know what it does and supposed to do so I can tune my base settings accordingly.
    Thanks.
    Btw, Fantastic update.

So the higher the 'dampening' setting, the less the springiness or dynamisn as you call it, right?

I'd change damping to something like "Core FFB Dilution" or "Core FFB Softening", it's made more difficult because 0 is raw and 100 is diluted, if this were inverted your choice of words would be nicer, such as "Core FFB Severity"

I'd also adjust FX to something like "Additional FFB Detail Severity"

    Just my 0.2

Yes, for the in-game Damping. It works with the physics from the game as opposed to wheelbase damping that provides a generic dulling of the forces. Generic damping should be minimized, which is why most DD wheels have specific sliders for inertia, friction, etc. So you can tune them more carefully to the least possible interference.

I am NOT a promoter of GM in any way, but this interview with Ben Collins was interesting for our topic:

The "FFB Debate" section starts a bit ahead of the 4-minute mark if you do not want to hear any of the rest of it.
