Really enjoying these time trials!
This time it will be a very difficult task for me to stay within the 107% limit. I'm really really bad in dirt racing. I can't get the handling right to not always spin the car.
Well, I'm really average myself, so my advice might not be the best, but try to slow down the car while it's in a straight line. If you oversteer, floor the throttle with the front wheels pointed where you want to go.
In the middle of the corner the car should point the exit, no big oversteer, they are only a waste of time!
I'm not a big fan of dirt, this TT is the right opportunity to learn
Keep it tight. Sometimes the urge to hit the pedal is strong, but be patient and priorize the racing line. Slides should only be used to help rotate the car in slow corners, but with small angles, balancing the car with a bit of throttle. Pedal to the metal when you feel the car is sunk and pointing to the right direction. Also, brake early.
Take a look at the RBR school !.
There's no way I will pass this week's TT.. I suck even more than normal in dirt and I certainly don't have the time to practice in order to improve... :'(
I know I'm doing something really badly but I have no idea what it is
It's the first time I've got to drive a rally stage like myself on a track with asphalt ... I admire AMS in many ways but as a guide to the dirt we aren't. I seriously doubt that in this round I will be able to make a time within the 107% limit ...
I've got a lot of work to do before the end of the week to get in the 107%. So much to learn
...having just completed a Dirt Rally competition, I really enjoyed the Lancer at Ascurra. Took a few laps to get into it, but I'm above the 107% line. That's success for me!
Thanks for all the driving tips. Even with a few days left, i think i've got a time set to stay within 107%.
The biggest mistake i made in my first 15-25 laps was braking just too late. My personal "eureka" moment came with braking much earlier, and then carrying the car patiently around the corner. It felt slow, but laptime was faster.
Grr...Turks has set a new best time and I'm under 107...back to work!
I would say look at it like this: you want to put energy into going forwards, not sideways. Only pro of oversteer is to either prevent understeer or to rotate the car.
There is about 500 people in this competition. I say we all put in 10 dollars each and hire a hit man to take out Turks. We don't have to kill him, just break his fingers and both feet.
I'll set up a go fund me if any one is keen?
I'm really SICK of this unregistered lap times, this is the THIRD time my lap times are not registered on the TTOW list.
@Renato Simioni I've asked many times before on this thread, do you have any idea why this is happening?
Is it not being listed in VX TToW only, or not in-game either?
Is there anything going on in the background that could be hogging your connection? If AMS tries to submit your lap to Steam Cloud but it times out for whatever reason - a download hogging the bandwidth for ex. or internet connection being down or unavailable, it would lose you the lap time.
Only on TTOW, you can see in the link, it's registered as a ranked lap but like the previous weeks I'm not on the TTOW list: Virtual Xperience
I see. Sorry about that, we´re looking into what the issue may be there.
I'm not sure if this helps, but when I do a good lap, I immediately exit out of Automobilista. I don't know what the trigger is to sync the times with TTOW, but exiting immediately seems to upload it every time for me.
