"given that there is already a planned reset to come with v1.7" ... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - # Goal: Keep historical stats for future reference ### Sub-goal: Stats go to external static website Please vote by giving the idea a thumbs up / down. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I wonder if anyone thinks the 857.759* lap times are worth being kept as a snapshot? The historic data would make a nice lookup table for future reference. The idea is to provide a single web page that draws the static data from before the wipe. The popular leaderboards here look like the ideal place for this, but I see no way of asking its administrator @KrisP what he thinks of it. (He used to be on this forum, but it looks like he's backed out some time ago..) Anyway, what do you think? Worth preserving or send them all to oblivion? --- (* as of 2026/07/07)
Saving the time trial stats has been attempted before. This time, however, Reiza wouldn't have to put in any sizeable work.- As of 2026 there are more records than ever. - Shredding them seems like annihilating a part of Automobilista2's journey and history. So, if you feel the same, why not show it by voting?
I think the easiest way would be if KrisP just makes a copy of his database. Don't know what API his site is using to get all these timetrial data, so I don't know how to access the data for anyone else to save them. Leaderboards were reset with 1.6 too and honestly another reset is necessary for a while now. Tons of times are just not achievable anymore with how different the physics are now.
I fully agree on both the necessary reset and involving @KrisP. - The point is how to reach out to him and convince him that this would be a service to the community. Hence the voting request to see who's in favor. Any other supportive input welcome.
It looks like the subject doesn't draw a lot of response ;-) So, let me be a little bold here and directly address the top 3 TT scorers in a final attempt to reach out. --- Howdy, fellow TT contestants: @hamtidamti007 @Hyrail90 @pvly Together you have put in some 4519 + 1156 + 1660 = 7335 lap times to reach the most P1s in TT. Are you interested in keeping a historical footprint of your efforts, or are you more like indifferent about all TT results being lost with 1.7? --- Feel free to answer or to ignore me..
I've been looking for this for sometime and didn't even know it existed. I have noticed that some times are not in the game, but are here. Were people banned? Also this made me realize I had auto clutch on. Why would I want that on. I have a clutch pedal and paddle!
Glad you like the leaderboards (LB) and TT; Anyway, this post is originally about keeping a historical snapshot of the leaderboard for future reference. (b4 the 1.7 wipe) If you like the idea, you may want to express this somehow ;-) --- BTW: You noticed correctly: Recent cars/tracks will only show up in the LB until after the 1.7 major version update, and all of the current TT data will be deleted (=clean slate with equal chances to compete for all)
I don't mind an archive, because some times are not achievable. I think that has happened in the span of 1.6 (maybe it could be me getting old. ) There's lots I would like to try again. But hopefully we can keep that "season" or whatever you want to call it.
