I know what early Access is but why should i turn off failures and damage then i could just bash my way around the track without trying not to hit anything not what a simulation is about.

I have the exact same problem with the V8. 5 laps round brands hatch and the brakes failed.

I will just tune off mech damage for know

But it's clearly something that the devs need to look at for upcoming patches as it seems a fair few people are having this issue and extremely often

I'm glad I posted this here now as I thought it was just me but its obviously something that needs work before the full release

I've thought this same thing before, watch a real car braking heavily and they often have tyre squeal, but it's only because different parts of the tyres are breaking grip at different times, such as the track not being perfectly smooth which it never is, or as the suspension loads up. But the tyre squeal doesn't necessarily mean the wheels are locked up. In game I'm rarely getting lock-ups, mostly due to lowering brake pressure way below the default value, but the sound gives false indications.

Same track, sunny, default setup. Did 18 laps. Never driven there before so first few laps were conservative. Braking at the 100m boards after a few laps. Started to get brake fade on lap 7. Went conservative a brakes for a couple of laps but they didn't come back. Tried going a bit deeper on the brakes and they come back. Crew Chief always reported brake temps good on front straight. Yeah, so lots of brake management required. I'm sure if I played with the setup and bias I could have optimised the brakes more. Lap times: 1:25.xxx

What you looking for then, 100% super brakes that you don't have to manage? A bit like Pit Stop 2 on the C64?

Paul, the 90s sim racing scene just called, it wants you back!

I just completed another test in the Super V8 at Goiania and once again the brakes failed after 6 laps. This time I set the brake pressure down to 80% and the brake bias more rearwards to 60/40 with 100% open ducts.. On this run I was nursing the brakes and watching the HUD at the same time. My pace was pretty average as the lap times were between 1:24-1:24.75. For the first 2-3 laps I noticed that the front brake temps never went red however from each lap onward they would begin to go hotter and hotter with each brake application and by the end of the short run they were regularly going red with temps of 800+ degrees even though they were cooling sufficiently between each braking point.

I appreciate what your saying and yes there should be some management however I've raced enough over 30 years and also driven a Supercar once in real life and with my little bit of experience everything is telling me something is not 100% right. Brakes should not fail after a handful of laps and I think it is worth the devs time to have a little look in case something is not working as intended.

every time in the Pas classic b, The very first corner at brands hatch, I brake and the game tells me there's severe damage and crew chief says my brakes are toast. That's corner one of lap one.

That's a known bug, the Pas is broken and even pitting won't fix it.
