The article is a bit concerning. MSG have admitted they are going to run out of money this year, the stock price has been destroyed so raising additional capital that route is a terrible idea. Some sort of debenture issue or warrant/rights offering aren't attractive at all either. They have no major products being released probably at least until mid to late 2023 AT BEST.

So... how exactly are they going to keep the lights on? Not to mention they still owe Luminus a few million dollars. I'm not hating, I play Rfactor 2 a lot, but looking at it from a business perspective this is not promising at all. I have heard rumors that NASCAR are trying to get out of the agreement as well. Also they have basically admitted in that article that NASCAR Ignition is a turd and they aren't going to fix it.

Too bad they blew all their money before they had anything to show other than the NASCAR game...they could've pulled a Rennsport to get people hyped.

If they can make significant changes to their NASCAR game they should be ok until they release the Indycar game. Lots of competition in 2024 though.

    Rennsport, AC2, PC4, F1, WRC...

They won't release a 2022 NASCAR game because they will add the 2022 cars as a DLC...free I hope lol.

Nobody, which is why it'll have to be free DLC (probably) for NASCAR '21. It's really one of their last chances to regain some faith from the fans. I don't think the bar is set very high at the moment based on what I've read about NASCAR '21 lol so it should be possible.

Then they can move on to 2023 and hope their next releases are not as bad.

Le Mans Ultimate comes out February 20th, it's been delayed from December so for their sake it better be stable and polished. That title will make or break MSG. If it does well, they might actually be able to make the Indycar payment...

    To survive:
    1. LMU needs to be a decent game
    2. Virtual Le Mans needs to go smoothly
    3. Pay Indycar
    4. Release 2024 LMU DLC
    5. Release Indycar game
    6. Console release of LMU

(points 3 and 5 might be wishful thinking at this point and 6 isn't likely...)

I think MSG is doomed either way, even if they manage to bring LMU to the market. Everything they've done so far has been a load of crap and no consumer trusts them anymore. So even if LMU is good it will be really hard to survive. At least that's what I think.

LMU won't save them. It will initially be quite limited in its content and as sim racing is quite niche it won't sell masses like forza or ACC or AC did. It is essentially rf2 with more limited content and extra features and probably a good online platform. It might turn out to be good but it won't be their saviour. I was going to buy but won't be now knowing they are in trouble financially and that if it releases in a similar state to their nascar game they may not have the resources to fix it before going belly up.

I wasn't sure if I would buy LMU but, the company's future certainly does not look bright.
I may still buy it if it gets very good reviews but, it will have to stand on its own merits as its development term may be quite short.

The more concerning part is what happens to S397 going forward.

Oh man. Had I just bought some shares in that company and had sold them shortly after I would have been rich today.

Yes. I was originally thinking about picking up some rF2 endurance content, but then decided to wait and see what LMU brings and just get that instead.

Now (and with steam sales looming), I'm extremely unsure if I should be picking up anymore rF2 content at all.
