Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post)

    Version: 1.6.9.3 (latest version - just had a minor update couple hours ago)
    Track & Layout Used
    : Long Beach
    Car Used: GTE (any)
    Applicable Settings: Have tried anywhere from 10 total grid size on up to max.
    Report: Trying to run multiclass including GT4, GTE, and LMP1. When the track is about to load, it will crash to desktop. Seems to be something with the GT4 class cars causing the crash as it worked fine using GT3s (any gen) instead of GT4s.
    Steps to reproduce: Any combo of GT4, GTE, and LMP1 on Long Breach, regardless of class size, results in crash to desktop. Error reports sent when prompted.

    Report: The lap time delta and potential lap time seem to have a bug. I've only tried/confirmed this on Long Beach after a long practice/quali/race both on and offline.

    Car Used: Formula Retro and Classic classes
    Report: AI slowing down on the whole track when there are yellow flags somewhere.
    When FCY is deactivated and there is a yellow flag anywhere on the circuit, the AIs are slowing down not only in the Yellow Flag zone but on the whole track, making them lose 4 - 5 seconds per lap. Not sure if it happens only when double waved yellows come out or also when there are only normal yellow flags
    Steps to reproduce: Set up a race with Rules activated and Full Course Yellows deactivated. Watch AI behaviour whenever there are yellow flags.

    Hockenheim consistently delivers significantly worse VR performance than any other track in Automobilista 2. FPS drops by 40–50%, especially during night sessions, fog with rain, and when using the helmet camera. I tested this on two different gaming PCs, and the issue persists regardless of graphics settings. Compared to clear daytime conditions, performance degrades severely and predictably at specific points around the circuit, particularly mid‑track and near spectator areas.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Start game in VR
    2. Start a Quick Race at Hockenheim (first layout, defined in provided screenshot).
    3. Set conditions to night and fog with rain.
    4. Use helmet cam.
    5. Drive a full lap and observe FPS drops of 40–50% at consistent locations, especially mid‑track and near crowd‑dense sections.

    Car Used: Formula Hybrid Gen3 (Possibly all vehicles)

    Report:
    It is possible to cheat at the 24hr layout at Nurburgring in Time Trial mode by going around the GP circuit backwards before reaching the start line, and then going over the start line backwards, and then turning left onto the start of the North Loop.
    At no point does the game register a dirty lap, despite the section between the GP circuit and the North Loop not actually being part of the 24hr layout.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    Load the circuit in TT mode, and at the top of the main straight turn right around the tyre barriers and cones onto the GP circuit. Drive around the GP circuit backwards, cross the start line backwards (the clock will start), turn left around the barriers onto the North Loop, and complete your lap - with no warnings.

    ps - I'm happy to have my invalid lap time deleted - I'll just have to set another legal one once the issue has been sorted.

    Car Used: BMW M4 GT4 F82
    Applicable Settings: Weather - clear, cold. High grip. LFM GT4 Series practice server.
    Report: There is some low speed grip issue with car or track, in 'Island Bend' corner. Long story short: doing that corner with extensive rotation allows to pass it ~65 km/h. While entering corner slowly without rotation under the accel pedal - immediately transforms car into ICE racing. It can't turn in even at ~40 km/h. Which is ridiculous for 60C+ warmed slick. I tried to fix this with a setup adjustments, but whatever I do - experience is still the same.
    Steps to reproduce: Join LFM GT4 Series practice server for this week, using M4 GT4. And test rolling into 'Island Bend' corner, without gas or brake (no rotation).

    Report: Game bug splats when selecting Formula USA 2023 on a high downforce track like Leguna Seca

    Edit: Formula USA Gen 2 and Gen 3 also cause the game to bug splat.

    Report: Fingers are clipping with the steering wheel and gear-shifting animations are missing with the F-HiTech Gen2 M3.

    Report: When going to start a Championship, if you select F. Hybrid G1 (or others in the list below), it immediately crashes when clicked on in the menu below. As soon you click, it immediately crashes.

    Ones that crash:
    F. Hybrid G1
    F. Hybrid G2
    F. Hybrid G3
    Formula V8 Gen 3

    : Adelaide (modern and historic, not STT), Azure Circuit, Buenos Aires (6 S, 6, all other versions ok), Cadwell Park, Curvelo (Long and Short), Jerez (Moto, Chicane, 1988), Laguna Seca, Long Beach (regular track only, not STT), Oulton Park (International, Island, Fosters, Classic), Salvador, Velo Citta (normal, Track Day, Club Day)

    Car Used: F-USA 2023

    Report: In the main menu in Single Race, changing the track to those mentioned above creates an instant game crash. Have also tested every circuit in the game (I own all DLC) and only the above conflict with this car class.

    Problem doesn't seem to repeat for some tracks with other classes, have so far tested the first 3 mentioned above with F-Classic G1 and no CTD. Will edit my post with results comparing the above circuits on other car classes.

    Edit:

    F-Classic G1 - Lotus 98T selected - tested all circuits, no crash to desktop.
    F-V8 G3 - tested all circuits, no crash to desktop.
    Will test another class.

    Steps to reproduce: Select F-USA 2023, select one of the above tracks, instant crash to desktop.

    Applicable Settings: Game mode seems to be irrelevant
    Report: When selecting one of the above classes while a high downforce track is selected, the game crashes. I already submitted the bug report through the bugsplat tool.
    Steps to reproduce: Select a high downforce track to force the high downforce aero package and select one of the above mentioned classes.

    @Marius H updated post structure to meet this thread's formatting requirements.

    Report : Absent Kart driver at a distance
    Kart drivers suddenly disappear at far distances. Screenshots provided from VR gameplay. I previously reported this bug in prior version. I can confirm the bug is still there after testing the new version.

    Report: I don't know for sure if it is a bug or a feature that is WIP, but since the update, the FV10 G1 now has Goodyear tire decals (finally, love it!). However, when using a user livery override, the tire decals disappear.

    Cars : F1 Edge all Models, GT3 Gen2 and maybe others.
    Report : When I play a time trial(Time Attack) and before manual control is handed over, smoke (from Tires?) can be seen for a short time.
    Steps to reproduce : Just start a Time Attack with some of the Cars and Tracks mentioned.

    Report : The minimap layout of the track is wrong, it displays the first chicane too early that you already passed that on the map before you actually encounter the chicane on the track (ignore my Simhub overlays, the Track Map in the AMS2 one)

    According to the map I would now enter the chicane but it's way ahead

    Report : The tyre noise sound is not related to any of the telemetry data being sent to SimHub. I've tested wheel spin&lock, wheel slip and traction loss. This lack of disconnect between the noise and the telemetry makes it impossible to trigger any vibration haptics linked to the tyre noise.
