It was clearly stated the beta was being played. It is possible the car has been tweaked so no need to be so dismissive.

It is stated in the latest patch notes the tyre had some tweaking last update but I had similar fun before this latest patch. But yeah it's probably better now :)

There's nothing wrong with discussing and giving your honest opinion about this game, even if it's negative. But please stop posting these childish comments. Your behavior in this forum lately is very annoying.

That was my point. Thank you for actually reading and comprehending the conversation instead of nitpicking and slandering.

What's more annoying is getting nitpicked and mainsplained to all the time.
I'm not the only one to get annoyed at that, from other comments I've seen.

Some of you people need to take a breather jumping on other posters just because you don't agree with them, or need to prove (yet again) how much you know about racing cars in video games.

Perhaps you get the message now, about how annoying it can be?

Will acknowledge a minor improvement after the tire model update of 1.0.2.2 ; however, until the AMS2 Camaro SS can stop in a straight line, accelerate in a straight line, and not roll like a late 70s Cadillac Eldorado, it will continue to have a very looooooooooooooooong way to go.

It's the 1.0.2.3 update (still in beta) I was referring to.

Still drives nothing like a real Camaro SS. Still doesn't stop or accelerate in a straight line.

Yes, and it's not even responding to diff modifications.
Max ramp angles, minimum number of clutches, no preload; straight line acceleration in second gear and the car spins.

With a decent telemetry program, the reason should be easily understandable.
We don't have one, but the devs should...

There must still be some diff programming missing or messed up. It is much better than the previous iteration, though. Both the SS and the Ultima should have non-adjustable viscous LSDs and the change notes say this was done to the Ultima, but both still show no viscous and they have the racing diff instead.

The SS has a somewhat reasonable 150 Nm of pre-load, but the Ultima default is way too low. Bumping it up to the max of 200 largely cures its problems. I would try moving the SS to 200 and adding another couple of clutches. But as I said before, I'm not wasting my time on any car that is clearly WIP other than to give quick feedback (which I already did in the proper thread). Once it gets close to finished, then we can test the *&^% of them :)

Also, please provide some track names and lap times where you have driven your real one (or from others). Those would be very helpful to compare in game and to ground your comments in track experience. I know you don't agree or want to hear this, but the SS is not a great track car...nor is any other relative heavy weight. Just because it's an eye-opener compared to the truly awful Camaros/Firebirds of old doesn't make it a great track car...just one that falls off the side of the track less than you might expect if you are biased from experience with the older ones. I think the one in the game is pretty close aside from the diff and braking issues at lower speeds....both of which should get fixed soon by Reiza, but won't transform the car into a nimble track machine.

From the Motor Trend review of the 2019 SS:

The 2019 Camaro SS also just about matched the figure-eight numbers of the pre-refresh, non-1LE SS, clocking a time of 23.9 seconds at an average of 0.84 g. That's certainly an impressive time, but according to testing director Kim Reynolds, it didn't come easy. In Track mode with stability control off, the Camaro required great finesse when lapping our course.

"I only used third gear because in second the tail is way too sensitive, and even in third it's extremely easy to launch it sideways," Reynolds wrote in his notes. "The way to drive this thing is to very, very carefully keep it mildly understeering and only mildly oversteering on exit. So you have to be meter-in steering and throttle very carefully. This is not a car to be horsed around. A spin is a twitch of the right foot away."

    Just for clarification:
(EDIT beacuse it's more accurate: Most of )The complaints about the Camaro SS often aren't about it being undriveable.

    They are about its accuracy.

    It can be amazingly fun.

    But it's not believeable. (yet)

You can have fun with everything in a multiplayer session, for actual driving behaviour testing, it's not the best environment though.^^
So the LOL quotes are actually not a contradiction.
