Can I use Car Mods for Hotlap?

Hi. I was under the impression that mods and hotlaps don't work together, so that loading a modded car causes the game to crash? Can I use a mod car along with a track to set a time--even if there are no times listed for the combination, with the result that my time will be listed for those who do try the combination?

 

Die Hotlap times are saved on Reizas servers, it can't save times for cars that are not available on Reizas side. But you can just use tools like Second Monitor to just record best lap times of each car & track for yourself
