I went with period tracks, not necessarily similar to the real season ones. Shame that there is no similar points system in the game, have to use the F3 system, the only one that doesn't give points to the top 10.

With AMDM and the custom AI, this game has become my favorite sim of all time to recreate these historic F1 seasons. Only thing missing is the classic points distribution, dont really care about the convulted dropped races, just the points.

 

Very cool! I want to run this season! I just have to watch a few Youtube videos of these old races and get into the mood

 

1963 Formula Junior Championship
Inspired by the 1958-63 British Formula Ford Championships and replaced the missing tracks from those championships with track layouts in AMS2 that were present in 1963.

The only info about the race format that I've found: "...the 15-lap final..." suggests more than 1 race per event, and the video shows that there was standing start:

1961 Formula One Championship

Maybe the closest we will ever get to racing 1961 F1 in AMS2?
The Formula Junior in AMS2 has less power than the 1500cc F1 cars, but it has modern brakes. Overall that means lap times are 105%-110% of the F1 cars, so I've taken that into account with the lap counts below.

2. Silverstone Historic 1975 (no chicane) - 77 laps (1)
3. Nürburgring Historic 1971 - 14 laps
4. Monza Historic 1971 10k (no chicane) - 40 laps
5. Watkins Glen Short - 90 laps (2)

Notes:
(1) Was raced at Aintree in 1961, but was 77 laps at Silverstone the year before
(2) Not quite the same layout as today - different last sector and start/finish line
(I skipped the first race at Monaco since the modern layout is too different)

 

We really need the 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 points system. I'm waiting for it to play champs like this.
