NOTE: THE CURRENT VERSION IS CALLED "PODIUMSCOPE" AND IS RELEASED ON OVERTAKE.GG. SEE DOWNLOAD-LINK BELOW.

An extensive Championship Manager for AMS2, designed to work with SecondMonitor Race Reports.

Having been thoroughly dissatisfied with the championship mode in AMS2, I thought about using my old Google Sheets spreadsheet, where you enter names and positions after each race and it automatically keeps track of the championship standings. But that didn't feel like a good enough option, because it's a bit clunky and I wanted to avoid having to manually enter the results.

In despair, I turned to SecondMonitor's championship mode, and after fiddling around with it for far too long without getting it to work, I decided to write a little program that would do everything I wanted using SecondMonitor's automatically generated race reports.

And here it is. It's not fancy or anything super special; it's just a little tool designed to do the following:
    • Create a championship and set the scoring
    • Add race reports
    • View standings and results
    How to use it:
    • Start and set up SecondMonitor, and let it run in the background
    • Do a race event in Automobilista 2 (single-player or online) and finish the event
    • Import the race report into the Championship Manager
In essence, it is just a little app to show and keep track of race results. I focused on the ability to add races after they have been driven and avoided a calendar or fixed-schedule approach. This means you can drive races online or offline, do as many as you want in any order, and then decide which ones to add to your championship.
You are free to add them immediately or next week, and you can drive more races in the meantime - maximum flexibility.

I'm not much of a programmer, so I know this is very basic, but maybe it will be helpful to some of you and serve as a way for me to give something back to the community.

You will need to have SecondMonitor installed and race reports activated (Settings -> Reports -> Race). The Championship Manager can import .xlsx or .json files.
Feel free to check it out and get back to me with feedback. Also, let me know if you find any bugs.

I don't plan to add too many features, but I have thought about implementing the following:
    • On the "Race Results" page, I want to add a lap table for each driver that shows every completed lap and its lap time, along with some other information such as pit stops.
    • Maybe a season/championship planner where all tracks (and classes/cars) are listed, so that the tracks making up a season, as well as the championship standings, are all in one place.
    • Export function, so that various results can be exported as .csv/.xls or pdf.
Copyright by me, obviously. Again, if you see anything noteworthy or really want to see a feature implemented, let me know.

    Cheers,

    Al Pesto

Version 0.3.11 has been released. It's a new and overhauled version that has been reworked in almost any aspect, aiming for better integrated features, a smoother workflow and a sleek look. It is now:

    PODIUMSCOPE

PodiumScope is a flexible championship manager for Automobilista 2, built around imported SecondMonitor race reports. Unlike AMS Champion’s more predefined championship workflow, PodiumScope lets you freely combine online and offline races, customize historic scoring systems, correct results, manage driver and manufacturer standings, plan race order, and inspect detailed lap charts. Your championship, your rules.

Get it here: Checking your browser

It's heaven sent for all those who want to add online races to a championship table, or have real historic races with XML-Selector scenarios. Enjoy, I'm happy to hear your feedback!

    Cheers,

    Al Pesto
