Does it work with the version 1.0? Because I've just tested it and the spotter has stayed mute
Yes it does, had a online race with it yesterday already, no issues
Doesn´t work for me too, since version 1.0.
i had nothing changed. Before update to version 1.0, it was working fine.
Edit says: It works now. i forgot to install the"rFactorSharedMemoryMap.dll plugin".
i had make an new installation of the game with version 1.0
You are right! I forgot also
Now everything is fine
Is anyone else noticing a discrepancy in the sector times that the spotter is reporting?
Formula Classics at Brasilia full - at first I didn't notice as he often says 'Sector 1 time is 'good' or 'ok'', so I didn't know exactly what he meant by that so I assumed it was accurate but then after several laps I noticed that his announcements were *always* 2 tenths out.
For example he would say 'You're a tenth off the pace in sector one', when in fact I was 3 tenths off the pace.
I then watched more closely and saw that this happens EVERY time he gives the sector time, it is always in error by 2 tenths.
Hmm, I haven't checked it since AMS went to 1.0, but it sounds like a weird rounding error or something. I'll take a look at it. The timing should be correct since I'm pulling those sector times from the scoring info struct that the plugin exports, so it's more likely an error with my plugin than it is a Crew Chief bug. I've been meaning to update the plugin for a long time (code is in master branch, just haven't cut a release in ages) so maybe this is the motivation I need to get it out there. Thanks for reporting this, I'll dig into it later this week/on the weekend and get back to you on what's going on here.

The second rule of Reiza51 is YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT REIZA51.
Crew Chief isn't going away and the two things are totally separate projects. Crew Chief hasn't seen an update in about 2 months mostly because mr_b and I have been busy with "Real Life", but it's still very much in development. In fact, just this morning another contributor started submitting patches for Assetto Corsa. I'm sure that's going to make *a lot* of people happy.
Yeah, some brave and awesome fella has been chipping away at assetto corsa support, so thats the next big release so there'll be a chance for some bug fixing.
Nice to hear! Keep up the good work, which you make the community happy!
any word on rF2 support?
LOL. There's just no pleasing you guys! I have a day job too, you know.
Honestly, I haven't done any work on the rF2 port yet. My personal and professional life have both been very busy over the past 8 weeks in addition to the "other" project too. Not enough hours in the day to do everything that I want to do.
If this spotter is going to be implemented I think the "Crew Chief" had the right idea in making sure the information such as 'car left, car right etc' is needed, due to online races experiencing so many crashes.
Just my 2cents worth....
If your having too many car crashes online then you should be racing with us aussies on racedepartment that have great online races every weekend
Don't race online that much lately.
But I still think 'crew chief' must help reduce crashes.
I have triples and I even love "the Chief"
Thanks for the offer but I let my premium membership of RD lapse at the moment.
I don't suppose mr_b would be willing to update his voice recordings to support the AMS native spotter so we could use his voice as an alternative voice pack? He's just become kind of my familiar partner in the car and I'd prefer to keep him around.
There's an ams native spotter now?
LOL, yeah, we need to catch up. I'll shoot you an e-mail with the latest updates.
That should technically be feasible. Once the system makes its way out to the public builds, you'll see that it's pretty straight-forward. It's more a matter of getting permission from mr_b to use his voice that way.
So there's a spotter / crew voice in version 1 that *isn't* me? That's an outrage that is
Hopefully you can channel the outrage into some even more creative abuse and swearing.
