In AMS2 you can assign buttons for adjusting differential settings (preload, coast, and power). I assumed these would apply to modern formula cars so you can adjust them on the fly like in real life, but the buttons do not register for the several generations of modern formula cars I tested. Am I missing something or are these buttons non-functional and differential can only be adjusted through setup or ICM?

If the diff settings appear on one of the ICM pages then the bindings should work to change them. All cars that support adjusting diff settings from the cockpit should also have that ICM page.

What won't happen, however, is the values on the ICM changing if it is open when you use the bindings to change diff settings. If you open the ICM to that page, adjust the diff with the bindings and then close and reopen the ICM you should see that the values have changed. The ICM only changes while open if you change the value through the ICM.

Thanks, I see that now. The bindings change the diff settings but there is no display indicating what it is changed to unless you open the ICM after. Would be cool to have a pop-up display in a simhub dashboard showing the changing values--maybe I'll have to give it a shot!

I asked the same question a couple of months back, I think someone said one of the F-Ultimate series (maybe Gen2 or what is now Gen3? I can't quite recall) does in fact have on-board adjustable diff settings that I confirmed worked with the buttons on my Moza wheel. I couldn't find any other cars that it works with.

Yeah Gen3 does have it. I checked simhub telemetry and unfortunately I don't see any gamedata properties for differential, so I don't think there is a way to add it to a dashboard or overlay that shows the changes you're making in real-time.

The changes should appear in the live edit messages HUD widget, if you have that enabled. I believe that you need to first have it enabled in the HUD editor, and then also there is an ICM setting item for whether live edit messages are shown or not. So that will need to be set appropriately. Then you should see the diff change messages, just as you would with brake balance and other similar changes.

Thanks, that worked! Now if I could only get it on a dash...I like to go HUD free for immersion.

Wasn't aware of that, I'll log a ticket for it and take a peek. I've no doubt missed a prior report somewhere along the line for it
