I spent a couple of days now trying to have some multiplayer sessions going, it looks more and more obvious why the game was not on the scene before. LFM, community servers and public lobbys shed lights on a lot of issues that need resolve if the game want to pretend to build a tangible competitive scene :
    • Car ghosting - this seem to work fine in some occasion, making sure cars hanging on the track get ghosted, which is fine. On the other hand I have seen ghosting happen on server with that setting turned off for cars that were not at all stopped. And then before you knwo it, next corner the ghosting is gone and of course drama follows.
    • Car contact - the contact detection seem fine for small door rubbing, as unlike other sims, your car is not send flying, BUT, more often than not a cars that will clip front/rear at side wheel arch level will just get sticked together and drag each other in a straight line. That's not how real world physic work.
    • Random setup assignment/change - I already had the issue that between two successive session (quali to race namely), the setup loaded for the car was changed without me going into the setup menu, starting the race with another setup that the one I chose and prepared at the end of quali.
    • Rolling start - let me get this straight, this is just pure chaos in an online environment, instruction for folks to follow are just not there, this end up with most servers running auto rolling start or standing start (for serie that should not) to get around the issue.
    • Post race result - they still happen to be innaccurate from time to time, which is fine for public lobbies, less for competitive environment. Also often enough player names, flags and cars just get displayed wrong in the lobby and result, not sure how that impact things behind the scene or if this is just a visual issue.
    • Unresponsive lobby - only happened once or twice and might be a host/sync issue, but the lobby would not start any event at all despite all user voting ready and the host confirming launching it, only solution was to quit and recreate a lobby.
