Hi probably been asked a lot. When I download a custom ffb file into documents and rename ending in txt. When I go to game and look at the ffb app it still says ffb base and not the name of the custom setting. The original file I have renamed and does not end in txt so should not work but it seems s to load in to tha game. Any help appreciated Thanks
Hello, Welcome to our forum. If you’ve installed and renamed it correctly there’s only one thing left to do. Switch the Force Feedback to "Custom" in the menu. See the picture. If you need more help leave a reply. Marius
Thanks for reply I have done that but I read when you go to the ffb meter it should say what custom file it is . But it just keeps saying base ffb . Is this correct I have tried at least 10 times but it just says base ffb Thanks for your help
Hi, I get what you mean: First back up 'ffb_custom_settings.txt' in 'C:\Users\Wattyu 1000\Documents\Automobilista 2' Open the downloaded file, copy all the text, then open 'ffb_custom_settings.txt' in 'C:\Users\Wattyu 1000\Documents\Automobilista 2', delete all the text in that file, and paste the text from the downloaded file. Alternatively, you can back up the folder first, then copy-paste the downloaded file into the Automobilista 2 folder and rename that file to 'ffb_custom_settings.txt' (without the brackets). Boot up the game and see if the name changed correctly so you know the game uses the custom FFB you downloaded. Marius
A well presented Custom file should just allow you to drop into folder and overwrite the existing. or at worse remove any characters after txt. You don’t need to stress about backing up the original custom as it will auto generate on game start , if you just delete an unwanted text file. There is a possibility the file you have downloaded, is corrupted or has a line error which makes the game ignore it and it auto generated and replaces with the base file again. it only takes one missing ( , # or ) character in file to render it unreadable.
