File integrity

    Hi all,

    So I run ams2 on a Linux machine and use either the official proton or a cachy variant. I often have crashes in which a track file is missing (for example a texture file). I can usually fix this by running a steam integrity check and will fix the problem.

    It happens so often that it is something I wonder if I can fix. I know my drive is okay since it’s not something that happens with other programs. I have noticed it does occur more following a big update (however I can’t say 1.6.96 makes it occur more than 1.6.7 or 1.6.8).

    Just wondering if anyone else experiences this or if it’s just a quirk

    Hi,

    A mate of mine had this as well, and in his case the SSD began to show write/disk errors. That's the only thing I could think of. Perhaps Linux is doing something weird with your files, and/or double check your SMART.

    Everything seems good from the SMART report. I did forget to mention I have my SSD split in different partitions (an OS drive and a game drive). I don't know if that could have any impact.
