Like mentioned in my car descriptions, it depends. With the BT44 it's pretty severe on the edge, while the M23 swallows it with a nice "thank you", when suspension is at working state.^^

Believe me...these 1-2 tenths to @Andy-R s time are a HUGE frustrating task. It's the last bit of smoothness, where personal and car limits apply very clearly. This small margin is like its own microcosmos. :D You get frustrated and "gnaaaa", just making one misshift and your clutch goes REEEE :D
I don't want to suspect anything, because Reiza will know best, what they have plugged into their physics. I can just share my experience and i made quite some mileage yesterday. (My left shoulder hurts a bit from all the one-armed driving) :D
Man, i just noticed, i have not driven Estoril yet...was one of my favourites in GTR with the 360 Ferrari. ...at least everything besides the horrible chicane section, that this track now features. :D

Every time Im on a good lap, I get way overexcited and shift too quickly... REEE all day. :(

I have noticed, it costs about 1 tenth...the thenth that was so important :D

It mostly happens between 4th and 5th gear, if you are shifting a bit too early, i got the impression. Taking a little moment longer for this last shift often saves more time, than you would lost by the clutch slip reee.

Also downshifting without clutch and with a strong blip becomes pretty tricky from 3rd into 2nd and then into 1st, if executed under edgy braking. Slight underrotation of the wheels and your gearbox goes "nope" :D

If you have problems with shifting (up or down) between 2 gears without clutching, maybe the distance between these two gears is too high. Try to lower the distance (make the lower gear longer or the higher gear shorter). Without clutching the gear will only slip if the engine - rev fits to the gear you want to shift.

yup, I hope that we get a historic version soon, with the classic first 2 corners, without chicane and the longer and wider last corner

No, it's not setup, in this case, it's me. :D (At upshifts, i use clutch anyway, just not at downshifts)
It was the same in AMS1, when pushing hard. You sometimes just overconcentrate, your blip isn't strong enough or you are braking with a slight locking, without noticing it in this moment.^^ Or being just too fast with the upshift.

I'm familiar with this issue and I've my problems to solve it, too :D
But if the gearing is setted better, this issue will less often occur

Yeah, but i don't want to make this compromise, when i can rectify it with my driving, especially when gearing feels good for the track. I actually know how to solve it, but my execution sucks :D

    This looks interesting.
Shock damping : (Brabham and maybe others in sim)
" Armstrong’s or Koni 8212’s" In the real car get too hot after 4-5 laps and loose efficiency. Wonder if you can check with this software

    Much appreciated.
my ref came from Ethan the Paid driver. I believe he meant all our retros and maybe other vintage. Will check back.
I suspect most sims to not, apart from factory teams sim.

tbh I am not sure any factory sims would model damper heat, fairly sure no commerical sims would do that, maybe ACC at a push. <Edit: ACC doesn't (yet)>

It was quite an early fix in the Lotus 72 that they re-sited the rear dampers to get them out of the heat wash from the sidepod radiators.
