Many thanks for your helpful explanation Joachim (in German).:)
I can better adapt to the sim with your provided settings. So i use 70 degree instead of 56 degree now and smaller adjustments with seat position.10 for the lateral and vertical movement in cockpit is enough for me.:D

Say you set your FOV to 70 in the camera settings, while in-car you adjust using the [ & ] keys, how do you know what figure you end up with? There is no number attached to these keys, so it's 70 in settings and what by key-bindings? o_O.... and if you change your setting figure, do these reset as well?

If you change the ‘View Angle’ with the shortcut keys while driving, you’re effectively changing the FOV in the menus - they’re the same (the FOV of the current view, whether it’s ‘Cockpit Camera,’ ‘Helmet Camera,’ etc.).

In the car, you change your POV (not FOV) by moving the seat. You’ll notice your surroundings change a lot (like the dashboard), nearby cars change a little (you’re slightly closer to them), but far-away objects stay essentially the same - the change is imperceptible, since a car or tree 120 m away will look unchanged if you move only to 119.8 m.

I thought that but if I set my FOV in camera settings to 37 (my calc result) and adjust while driving, when I go back to camera settings it's still set at 37, doesn't change? So what FOV do I have now?

Are you sure you are looking for the FOV of the correct view?
"Cockpit View" and "Helmet View" can be different. If you are in "Helmet View", using the keys will not change the "Cockpit View" angle.
If you are unsure which one is which, set one to 25 and the other to 75 then cycle the camera while driving. The too views are going to be very different and they are from the same spot - the driving position.

Yes, in cockpit view, the keys do change the view angle while in car, no problem there. My point was that after changing the view angle in car, the FOV setting back in the camera menu remains at the original figure.

Did you make a keybinding called View Angle Decrease - increase. Not seat angle.
FOV setting can't be saved per car so it IS the FOV that you adjusted with the latest car and this setting is the same as in MENU camera settings.I would suggest :Find a setting thats fits to your monitor size and set this in MENUE camera settings as standard. Then use seat position for finetuning.

I've had trouble with the cams before, defaults to bumper cam even in Reiza content (not the broken mods) even mid-session! If I change FOV with the keys it doesn't always change it back in menu.
Going to validate files and re-bind keys now
