FPS drops in LFM?

The thread is too focused on LFM . It s not something that only happens in a LFM race .
I also took some captures of many many system stats during a significant performance drop in a long open lobby practice session.
And everything looks in a normal window .
Gpu usage is fine , CPU is fractionally higher, but that may have been due to running capframx at same time .
There’s no issues with memory usage, even memory + cache of Ams2 process.
If anything, I would say the Memory usage stats suggest that the memory use is too low during this period of bad performance. But I would need to see it during normal performance to compare .
Players could leave server and rejoin, but still be experienced the performance loss .
There isn’t anything obvious spiking in load or loss of headroom.
It certainly is a very difficult thing to diagnose.

I started dabbling more into multiplayer recently and while for the past 3 weeks I never encountered any issue in solo with chnaging condition and 40+ cars, I see it happen quite often in multiplayer. The session just become randomly unstable, I say session because it is not a constant FPS drop, it might go to normal again just before dropping again later. It is hard to tell what the trigger is as I do not see anything on my system changing and the host side is fine (from their words). I am using W11 though...

 

Any extra anti-virus or anti-spyware software installed and running on your system?

 

I don´t think antivirus or similar software is the problem as this headache was only introduced with 1.6. Before that I personally had no problems like this while running the game with quite low end pc and no security software installed, now though roughly half of dedi server sessions (mostly lfm) at some point end up being a slideshow so bad I end up crashing or quitting before crashing. Weird thing is it also happens in single player but not to the extent as in dedi sessions but p2p "seems" to work fine at least for me.

I want to know how many people are experiencing the Performance Loss in MP sessions are experiencing it in Overcast or Heavy clouds setting.

Hit Agree button if you have only noticed it during
Overcast/ heavy cloud conditions.

Had it pretty randomly, whatever condition, time of day or number of players. The only constant seem that it happens when the race is over 80% completion (approx), at least at time I got the issue.

 

never mind i guess, it was just testing a different theory .
it’s only happened to our long league races in Overcast conditions, so was hopeful that might be something.
once wasn’t even a race , just a long midweek open lobby practice .

 

I have the same experience on Win10 also with a FPS drop, before a GT4 with 30 cars was no problem now even with 20 cars I have a FPS drop to sometimes 40 but most of te time 55. Makes no difference which track or cars, I have tries to reduce the cars and other things, nothing helps to improve the FPS

 

I too also get the random frame drops during races which is horrible in VR but also it happens on the grid waiting for everyone to ready up. What I have found though is that if I leave the game on the lobby screen the judders never stop but if I click into options (I do this now because of claustrophobia) as I can see through the UI gaps, the frame rate becomes normal again.

 

I don't think you can tweak the game out, as, at least on my end, the stutter comes in for a period of time (can be 2 to 4 laps), but ends up clearing itself up. At first I thought it was maybe something else on my computer running an update, but yesterday I alt-tabbed out of the game to check and nothing was going on.

 

anyone havin Nvidia app installed, got fps beeakdown to 50 after half race on full Monza mukticlass lfm server. Deinstalled and seems to be fine again.

 

won’t be related i don’t think .
Effects Amd and nvidia users .
Just restarting game will clear it up .

 

7 hours running multiplayer today, no issue, it is really quite random. I start to suspect it is on server or host side that something goes wrong when the stutter happens.

 

I raced online today (not in LFM), and at first, the weather was overcast. I experienced significant stuttering despite having high FPS (around 117). However, once the weather cleared up, everything returned to normal and was as smooth as always. I haven’t experienced stuttering in the rain either, only during overcast conditions.

What’s strange is that I never experience this during practice or qualifying, no matter the conditions. It’s only during races, which makes it even more frustrating.

 

Yes but more server than host , as the other day during 50 min practice session the host and others could leave server and return, but still be affected.

30min Race Lfm Monza Gt3, frames down to 50 after half race till end, as soon as crossed finish line all back to 144. Messed result too i guess cause place 2 became the winner instead. Testing this morning with 40 AI same conditions 30min too not even one drop. tried it again and still all fine.testing online later today.

 

What weather was in the first part? I experienced this drop and stutering only in overcast or cloudy weather and always in race session online. I have the same like you, offline is very smooth, does not matter what conditions.

 

Weather was lite clouds to overcast when i remember right, cant find the exact weather in lfm statistic... will try an overcast race offline now
