I have had this issue ever since first installing ams2. 3 years and 600 hours of playing time later and i still haven't found any solution, so i thought i should post here.

    The issue:
I am running ams2 on graphic settings that always deliver between 200 and 300 fps (readout using riva tuner statistics server) on a 3.440 x 1.440 144Hz monitor. And it also feels extremely smooth. That is, until i press alt+tab or the windows key or force a focus loss in any way. After going back into ams2, the game will feel extremely stuttery. If i had to guess, i would say it feels like ~60 fps. The odd thing is that RTSS will still readout the very same 200-300 fps. I should add that it does not matter at which point the focus loss happens: when the game is paused, in the main screen, during startup, etc. It will always remain stuttery until ams2 is fully restarted. This issue only occurs in ams2 and no other game.

    My specs:
    R7 5800X3D
    RTX 3070 TI
    32GB DDR4
Windows 11 (all versions since 2023)

Failed attempts at trying to solve the issue (the one's that i recall):
-Clean installation of many different graphics driver versions (591.86, 566.36, ...)
    -HAGS on and off
    -Checked files on steam
-Reset of all settings (delete C:\Users\*\Documents\Automobilista 2 folder)
    -Running fullscreen and borderless
-Running ams2.exe and ams2avx.exe as administrator
    -Disabled fullscreen opimization
-"Override high DPI scaling" on application
-Changed just about anything in the nvidia control panel such as: G-Sync on and off, Vsync off, low latency mode on off and ultra, refresh rate on highest and on a fixed value, ...
-Connected monitor using both hdmi and display port cable

Any help, even if it's just for understanding the issue better (why is it stuttery despite reading out many fps), would be very much appreciated.
