In VR, I doubt this game can be good in the future. It's ugly and runs like a pig. Not a matter of optimization, it's graphics engine design. Worse than BeamNG VR beta.

That's surprising and a shame, I would have thought every new sim would prioritise VR, surely as the technology evolves more and more people will be turning to it.

All I expect from AC evo is that open world around nuburgring so I can cruise around in a Escort Cosworth more realistically than forza horizon.

Tried ac evo yesterday and I was mostly dissapointed, looks gorgeous and sounds good, but everything else was very dissapointing, specially the AI. BUT I can tolerate this on an early access title, however what I can't tolerate is the always online requirement to things like license tests and driving missions, being limited to 6 cars because I don't have a license and I can't get those licenses because the game is offline. Kunos has added an expiration date to this game already, when they feel like it the servers will go down and with it 80% of the functionality that this game has.
So it was a refund for me until they decide otherwise.

I was quite surprised that AC Evo is barely playable in VR. In fact it is not playable on my system right now and I'd say it's a okayish system to run VR. Hope Kunos can improve performance, otherwise i can only enjoy this sim when i have a new NASA computer.

    But welp…this is EA.

Haha... Fun with VR in ACE...
I can see the AMS2 devs giggling.
In retrospective Renato made a bold brave informed decision to bet on the Madness Engine that payed off pretty well.

I got a decent 70fps+ with DLSS on (just alone on the track though) with default settings the game set for me (I only changed the max frames and enabled DLSS as I expected to need that for good enough fps). So it definitely wasn't broken, unplayable mess

Tried few cars (ferrari, porsche, merc) and the feel I got was very much like ACC and I'm sure ACC fans either love it right away or will love it when it's actually finished. FFB especially was very similar (probably same engine/implementation further tuned), which I'm not a big fan off. The cars were super stable (especially on higher TC) and honestly not very engaging to drive.

I'm sure this will work for the big masses and will be hugely popular title, but the focus is not in something I'm that interested, open world, collecting cars etc.

But yeah, long way to go before this is going to finished title, which I was very much expecting from the early access status. I doubt any new hardcore motorsport game will be released as "ready" from anymore, it's going to be more or less "early access" first.

Try the VR for a comparison.

This is exactly where ACEvo's focus is on the masses. It will be successful because it will also support all consoles. Personally, I am very disappointed with EVO. Even though I know that it's only Early Access, that's not enough what you get here. ACC feeling (which I hate) and everything has been toned down and the damping is extreme. It seems to me as if it should also be safe for children, with no vibrations and the lowest possible forces. The recommendations for dd bases are ridiculous at 7Nm. Higher forces cause anomalies and FFB excursions. Not to mention the graphics, very bad and unplayable in VR. A big disappointment for me so far

I’ve really enjoyed the short time I’ve had with it , running ultra settings at 3440x1440 and it looks very nice. Mainly hooning around Bathurst in the Alfa Giulia although I can’t for the life of me find how to cycle the internal cameras. Cars feel connected and I found the ffb feels intuitive. Feels like a positive start so far and I’m excited to see where it goes.

    Is AMS2 dead yet (sic)
I've spent the last 5 months reading how AC Evo was coming out in jan and would kill AMS2?
