Yeah it's just the telemetry App reading AMS2 data, but I'm pretty sure it will just cover the basics that Shared Memory delivers with no real deeper support. Just go for Second Monitor and send the creator a donation before supporting horrible setup paywalls.

They couldn't even keep their LMU setups up to date when physics were updated, so good luck even if they would sell AMS2 setups to keep them updated. That's the same problem with AMS2 Time Trials, the last reset was 1.6 last November, so most setups you see there will be bad now and some cars are just not able to recreate their past times anymore (like the Lambo GT3 was quite op when it launched). But this all comes down to LMU Fixed Setups being really bad (they couldn't even streamline that all cars have the same brake duct opening, so some cann suffer from brake overheating), so people are spending money to have drivable cars.

AMS2s setups are usally pretty great imho. You can easily drive against 110-115 AI without changing a single value. For some tracks you might have to look out for overheating specific tires. But people in general horribly misunderstand setups by adjusting their car to help them get away with their bad driving habits instead of finding the limits of the car first and then testing if adjust parameters actually improve the achieved laptimes. A more stable or easy to drive car is not always a faster car.

yeah i was having a huge issue with the Valkyrie around Interlagos, and it took me like 30 mins to do testing and find a solution. but its actually fun to understand how everything works.

I am also thinking people exploiting the physics are faster than good setups, thats just what it is.

Of course, they have started with AMS2 support only a day ago. I am sure in next weeks there will be plenty of setups available, also quick lap times to compare our drives.

But OK, I do not want to look like a fanboy. It is great anyone can decide if CD is good enough to get attention or pass it.

Does anyone know what causes the mirror in the cockpit to go foggy/cloudy sometimes?
It was like that for the entire 80 minutes at road america on LFM last week

This bug has been since day 0. Not even Reiza knows why, nor how to solve it.

Guys, I am missing the fireworks Renato blessed us with in the 1.6 update. Do they only appear when using the official IMSA-Preset? Do you still see them?
I did a custom 20-minute race on Road Atlanta with 30x time progression starting 1 PM and ending around 11 PM in the dark. GT3 and LMP2 multiclass, I finished P1 in the GT3 class. Still there where no fireworks to be heard or seen. Am I doing something wrong?
I read somewhere that those effects are coupled with the particle graphic settings but I already have those on high.

Try it around Sebring. AFAIK it only happens on specific tracks

Okay I will try that. Somehow I assumed that Daytona, Spa and Road Atlanta would all have this feature.

Edit: TBH the changelog entry from update v1.6.3.0 is not very helpful :p
"Added firework displays in the Sky & along start / finish straights for tracks & events that feature them"

Ams1 is a realistic simulation. Ams2 is a fun game with other advantages (VR, variety of cars and tracks, FFB, graphics).

With all due respect, I completely disagree with this 'sim vs game' attitude that people have in regards to AMS2.

I'm not the fastest person in the world but I do alright, and using the exact same skills that I use in AMS2 I can get up to speed very quickly in other racing sims and set comparable times. If AMS2 was any less of a simulator than these other games then I should be significantly slower, which I'm not.

The margins of comparison are so minute that to call AMS2 a game compared to everything else being a sim is just nitpicking and silly. Might be worth giving Need for Speed Underground 2 another play to see what an arcade game is actually like :)

Not to mention it's also insulting towards the devs who are working hard to make it as realistic as possible, and who have to deal with the legacy of the Madness engine which (deserved or otherwise) has a reputation.

I have enough respect for Reiza's achievements. Or do you think I invested so much time and energy into this game just for fun?
What bothers you if I call it a game? In the end, they're all games, with more or less realism. Maybe you should reread the text carefully. Or you could address the positive aspects I described. But it's immediately defended, and people feel insulted when their favorite Sim receives a critical opinion.

RBR is not hard. It drives like real cars do, that is all.
