Hi, does anyone know if there will be any Christmas discounts on Steam? I'd like to take advantage of them to pick up some more DLC. I was also expecting the update with the HUD improvements. Is there any information about that?

 

So it’s been a good year, lots of new content. Not content pretty much every month, but it was good nonetheless.

are we done for 2025? Is there going to had a new present under my virtual tree

 

Steam Winter sale starts later today, I'm pretty sure AMS2 and all DLCs will be discounted as always (we will have to see if the 2005 dlcs will be on sale too though).

I wouldn't hold my breath for more content, but I hope we will see December blog post by end of the month.

Overall I think Reiza nailed the 2nd half of 2025. So much content, the AI improvements, the physics/tires updates. Can't wait to see what Reiza is cooking for us for 2026

 

It will be funny if somebody misreads your post and thinks AMS2 has 2005 DLC items.

 

Steam sales are up with up to 70% discount on the game and all dlcs. Even the new DLCs (Historic Endurance and Historic Track Pt3 have a 20% discount)

 

Hey Ace, can you help me? I have a problem with your IMSA skin pack. (Its the only active and if i deactivate the problem is gone)
The Problem is: as soon as i have the gt3 class in a grid. My full grid is gt3 even if its multiclass.

...I don't think yours was fear of the airplane, I think it was fear of leaving the simulator..

 

Sorry mate, it is actual fear of flying! I dread airplanes, especially since the Air India 171 crash

 

OT but flight fear is totally understandable, don't feel too bad about it.
I love to snowboard with big jumps and IRL trackday hotlapping, but i haven't flew since 2019 bc of a very scary experience over Bermuda's triangle.

 

I've really taken a lot of planes, I'm always afraid, but a few years ago my plane suddenly dropped for about 20 seconds. The year after, I took a strong sleeping pill and I was so scared that the pill didn't do anything. For me, it's a shock to get on a plane now.
Have you tried taking a sleeping pill? I see people do it.

 

Nope. Years ago when I flew with my late mom from New York to Frankfurt, I tried using a sleeping pill but it did zero...

Development updates are released a couple of days before actual updates. So, I assume we will get the update today or tomorrow.

 

Thought I read somewhere that Career Mode will arrive sometime 2026! I hope so as it is much needed for single players like myself. The only decent one at the moment is F1, which isn't a great sim of course, but at least it's ok. I believe an F1 title isn't happening next year, but EA are finally looking at just doing yearly DLC upgrades, which I think is sensible, as is what AMS2 do well.

 

EA said that it will only do a DLC for 2026. In 2027, it will be an all-new game. In reality, as we all know, all EA sports games are just roster updates being sold as brand new games...

 

Yep! They didn't clarify any further plans past 2027 having a new game, but any sane person would expect them to finally give in to yearly expansions instead of yearly games, if them having F1 25 be the "main" game for a bit is anything to go off of. Any reasonable person would understand that there's no need for a yearly game within the same set of regulations (especially with how inconsistent the dev teams are between each other). So there's definitely hope that they change up their release style.

NASCAR 25 devs keep talking about "Year Two" and, as far as I know, have yet to clarify what that means exactly (yearly game or expansion). But I believe there's a quote somewhere (allegedly, because I can't remember off the top of my head) that they're 'waiting to see what the market does' whatever that means.

AMS2, BeamNG, the (various) Assetto Corsa series, and Le Mans Ultimate have shown that "the market" can easily sustain live-service racing/sports games, without the need of a yearly release. Especially with LMU being the most recent by planning to go on console.

Reiza almost had Indycar, but then the license got held up because, if I remember the timing correctly, MSG still had the licensing at that point. It's since gotten obtained by iRacing, and (with hindsight, it makes more sense) will have a stand-alone game in 2026. The latter part alone is really cool for Indycar fans, since they haven't had a stand-alone game since... what, 2004? But I do wonder if iRacing's version with the conditions of the agreement have some sort of exclusivity agreement, and maybe that's why Indycar wasn't able to officially come to AMS2.

As for NASCAR, they're seemingly more open with their license and general IP. Heck, they uploaded a whole host of previous race broadcasts just on YouTube, and (as far as I know) allow people to freely clip the broadcast and upload clips of reactions or edits without taking the videos down instantly. I can't really guess that "It's because it's a spec series" because, well, so is Indycar. It all could just be down to NASCAR being more open to licensing a car from their series vs Indycar - especially since I don't think NASCAR has been in any other sims aside from iRacing for... actually, I don't think they've ever been in another sim, ever? Someone would have to correct me on that one.

But hey, we finally get the Garage 56 car!

 

Any sane person, yes, but that's not EA's modus operandi. Just look at the FIFA/EA FC franchise. Every year, it's a "new" game, at full price, but when you play the game, you quickly realize it's the same game as last year, with a few superficial changes. So there's no need to buy the most recent game, unless you want authentic rosters and kits. Same for Madden NFL, NHL hockey, etc.

With F1, I guess they didn't have any choice because the tech regulation changes are so massive that there was not enough time to make the game in time for a June/July release. So the DLC is clearly a compromise. But from 2027 on, expect a "new" game every year. EA is a publicly traded company with shareholders to please, unlike a studio like Reiza.

 

can someone drive the kartsim 4 stroke karts in RF2 and replicate that behaviour in the 4 stroke class in AMS2. As a 4SS owner I can tell you the way the karts feel and behave especially over the kerbs in the kart sim mod are in a better place than the AMS 2 karts. AMS2 though has 100 times better ai so would rather driver AMS2
