Hi, l'm looking for a way to drive the same corner many times to find the perfect line without driving the whole lap. How can you do that in AMS2?

    Hello,

There isn't a way to do that. This is a sim after all. In Test Day you could workaround this by doing offroad and drive back to the point to you want to start, but the 'wrong way'-counter will likely put you back in the pits.

  3. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on the forums, but I was unable to find what I was looking for via search and other sources (AMS 2 Wiki/Reddit/etc).

I am a gamepad player and was wondering if someone from the Reiza team would be willing to explain how the user should interpret gamepad force feedback/vibrations while driving. I'm a few hundred hours into AMS 2 using one of the more recent Xbox Core controllers as my main. While driving, I am unable to feel ANY vibrations from the gamepad, save for the initial few moments of hitting the brakes. I'm not 100% sure what this vibration is supposed to indicate to the player as the vibration itself is always located in the central portion of the controller and it is always at the exact same intensity (it doesn't trail off as I let off the brake trigger or as the car slows).

For a while, I assumed it may be indicating the g-forces associated with rapid deceleration, but there is no inverse vibration on rapid acceleration. Elsewhere, I get zero vibration for other parts of the sim that I would assume should be included (based on my experience in other driving games). There is no feedback for driving over curbs, traction loss, ABS activation/pulsing, contact with other cars, contact with large curbs (even at speeds nearing 200 mph), contact with walls, etc.

I have tried re-installing the game several times and verifying files. I have also tested multiple other gamepads. My experience has been identical in AMS 2 when using any of the Xbox One-era controllers, 3 different Core Controllers, and the Xbox Elite v2. I had a similar experience with a Sony DualShock 4 and Razer Wolverine. I have used a DualShock 5 with AMS 2 and it works perfectly for input, but I've never successfully gotten any vibration with this pad. AMS 2 doesn't recognize my original 360 controller (but this same gamepad is also unrecognized in Le Mans Ultimate). In the case of the controllers listed above, my rumble/vibration experience has been identical with only feedback from a central location upon initial braking.

I've used these same gamepads with other sims/games with much better vibration results. In my opinion, Assetto Corsa Competizione is currently the best gamepad feedback option as it cleanly and reliably gives actionable vibration for almost all in-race conditions, including its use of the individual trigger motors for ABS activation and grip loss (and this feedback is consistent on both Xbox Core and DualShock 5 gamepads). Additionally, the localized feedback for other effects genuinely feels appropriate for a given moment in-game (ie. the left side gently shudders when one of the tires on the left side of a car kisses a curb). On the flip side, I can't get any kind of decent feedback vibration with the original AC (unless I use the wonderful community gamepad mod). Forza 8 has some fantastic controller haptics despite its lackluster physics compared to AMS 2. I've also gotten usable vibration feedback from LMU, rFactor2, RaceRoom, GRID Autosport, NFS Shift 1/2, Forza Ho3-5, and Forza 7.

I want to continue troubleshooting this issue as I feel like better gamepad vibration could help my lap times (I currently set my best times with no vibration at all as I don't understand how AMS 2's vibration feedback is supposed to work). I also assumed that this could be a Madness Engine issue, so I reinstalled Project Cars 2 only to find that it has outstanding gamepad haptics/feedback that is head and shoulders above what I am currently getting from AMS 2 (including curb rumble, traction loss, shift blips, cart-to-car contact etc).

Is there any way someone on the Reiza side would be kind enough to explain exactly what type of feedback the game sends to gamepads? I want to have rumble on the controller, but what I'm currently getting doesn't make sense and I am eager to do whatever I can on my side to improve the play experience. I'm also willing to just pay money to Reiza directly for a gamepad haptic upgrade/DLC type deal if that is what is needed. I'd also appreciate if I wasn't scolded for not using a wheelbase and pedal setup, which has been the de facto response I've gotten when trying to work on this issue via reddit and other simracing communities. Thanks in advance!

Here's a quicky...does the motion blur setting affect cockpit view?

    *G29 Rattling issue*
    Hello,
I have recently got into sim racing and bought a G29 wheel. The game is amazing (still need to learn to drive though) and I'm trying to play as much as I can.
One issue that I have though is the rattling that the wheel does (due to noise mainly), specifically when the tires are worn or have a flat spot. I have managed to solve this in other games, but with this game I am unable to remove this regardless of what changes I make in the settings.
I have not tried any custom FFB files as I am not really sure how they work, would you be able to suggest one?
Or is there something that I can do to remove the FFB from the tire wear/flat spots?
Thank you very much in advance and I apologise if the question has been asked before or is annoying.

    Hi,
I'm trying to add a Telemetry overlay (break, throttle application over time graph) in AMS2. Does the Racelab Overlay really work with AMS2? It is a Premium Function of Racelab, so i have to pay for it. In a Thraed from 2024 someone claimed that Racelab does not work with AMS2 properly. I want to ensure that it works before purchasing Racelab.
Is anyone using it and does it work?

It’s better if you do it yourself in Simhub. Cheaper and the overlay would be free

Is the new DLC not part of PaddockClub/Reiza51 membership? All other DLC shows in library except for the 2 new packs.

Sorry if this is off topic, but on what basis are rescans for circuits in the game considered? One thing I noticed was that Imola's scan is now quite old (still very high quality) but the kerbs and runoffs are quite different now.

At this point it would probably make more sense to the dev team to add new circuits instead of rescanning old ones but I would still like to know if possible. Thanks!

I think for now it would be best if all the modern layouts would also have "X Year" added to the title. Modern Imola is just called "Imola", same with Monza, Silverstone, Daytona and many others.

Hi, I read that the USA bonus pack will be free for those who have the Racing USA expansion pack. I bought the three packs separately and I still see the USA expansion pack available for purchase, even though it doesn't actually add anything I don't already have. Does this mean that if I want that bonus pack, I still have to buy a pack even if I already bought them separately? Thanks in advance.

Hi Marius, is there any possibility that one day we will get multi position switch functionality instead of those switches only functioning as encoders? Or is it a game engine issue? Cheers

    Hi Joe,

I don’t have a definitive answer for you just yet, but I’ll follow up as soon as we have more information. I’ve noted your details and will reach out with updates when possible.

    Best regards,

Can anyone tell me by how much the resolution is multiplied when you apply Super Sampling AA at low, medium, high, and ultra quality settings?

I am currently using DLDSR in combination with TAA for this, and I would like to know which is better.

    Hello,

Good question! If I’m correct, Ultra renders at 3× your resolution, so combined with TAA, it’ll put a hefty load on your GPU. With a bit of educated guesswork, High would be 2×, Medium 1×, and Low 0.5×. Something along those lines.

    Thank you,
    Marius
